cobraman Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Finally going back to the bench. Took a Cobra to do it. : ) Monogram 1/24 kit that will become a drag car. Not sure exactly where this build will wind up as I am winging it as I go. The drag bars in the photo will not be used I will find some better or maybe modify those. Have a resin scoop I am molding to the hood and need to fill the holes in the side where the pipes would attach. Edited July 30, 2015 by cobraman update
bobthehobbyguy Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Nice start. Glad to seeing you back on the bench. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this one.
MeatMan Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Another new twist on a classic! I'll be keeping track.
cobraman Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Making some slow progress on this one. Need to select some decals and then clear so I can finish it up.
afx Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Ford's 429 is a hemi but I don't think there is anyway possible to squeeze a 429 in a Cobra without some major surgery.
10thumbs Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Looking good Ray. When I see a Cobra I think small block and Weber carbs. I like the setup.Ray, did you copy/paste the pics? I not able upload any pics from PB lately, so I'm doing copy/paste.Michael
cobraman Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Copied the direct link if I remember correctly. It did seem to work slower and a bit different now but it did work.
cobraman Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Finished this up this morning. Didn't turn out as good as would have liked but they never do. I used a resin scoop, tires and wheels from the parts box, head light covers and roll bar also from the parts box. Removed some chrome and modified the bumpers. No engine or chassis detail. Wanted to do a simple build.
1930fordpickup Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Looks good Ray. I like the Ohio George style wheelie bars.
cobraman Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Thanks guys. I made the wheelie bars to long but was going for something different. What did I learn ? Different is not always good. : )
