Brent Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Browsing the truck porn thread on the ratsun forum yesterday and saw this http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k411/Tammy0047/maxresdefault 2.jpg Wow super cool! Thx for the comments guys. I had to put this on hold for a bit. Wife has me renovating the main bathroom. Installing new sheetrock at the moment and mudding the joints. Figured how hard could it be to get a wall smooth when I can get a kit to look like glass...... Apparently not the same thing LMAO. Anyways I will hopefully get back at this in the near future. In the meantime I finished the frame. Edited September 8, 2015 by Brent
rsxse240 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 WOW! that looks great! I can't wait to see more progress! I could come by and help with the drywall, if it would help to get you back to building! lol. but you'd have to pay for the air fare.
Brent Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Thanks again.LOL The way I'm throwing money away on mud it might be cheaper to fly you up LOL. Seems like I put it all on then end up sanding it all off again....;-)
bobthehobbyguy Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Nice work. A project I would expect to see from Rad Rides by Troy. You are turning a Scot into something cool..
djflyer Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Excellent work Brent! Love to see something considered a truck that isn't jacked 3 feet in the air to stuff 30's under it (ie. recent Garage Squad). One suggestion if you're interested would be to open up the rear window to full-size of the opening so the glass sits flush with the body, maybe with dark tint.Looking forward to seeing this one.
Brent Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Thx for the comments guys and following along. With this new government up here in Canada the province of Alberta is hurtin pretty bad. My business is feeling the pinch and I haven't been in the mood for building. I did sit down this weekend and tried plugging away a bit. Felt good to get my mind somewhere else. Exhaust is done. Wasn't enough room for mufflers so after scratching my head for a while came up with this idea. Mechanical dumps with some parts box mufflers. Went out the side of the body for the exhaust exit (I have always loved that look).
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Nice work. Glad to see you back on this one.
Mattsteel85 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Great job! I love looking through these insane build threads
Olskoolrodder Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 WOW,dang that thing looks mean! Awesome job so far, brother, keep it coming
bill_67 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I'm so glad to see you back on this and moving forward, the chassis and exhaust are amazing.
Brent Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Thank again you guys. I'm on a bit of a role. Chassis and interior is complete.
Brent Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Such a nerve wracking stage in the build. You spend all this time on a chassis and the paint job can either compliment your work or wreck it. I should known better than to not paint the body first. LOL As for color I went with what I was going to do in the first place with an added stripe. Started the multi step paint process today. Primed, interior painted, masked and first stripe color painted. Will wait a few days for the next step in the process.
Brent Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 I finally finished this one, had big plans for the paint job but messed it up. So went back to basics and got it off the bench.:-(
Dann Tier Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I finally finished this one, had big plans for the paint job but messed it up. So went back to basics and got it off the bench.:-( Still VERY cool looking!! and well executed!!
Jantrix Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 The only issue I see is the edge of the yellow stripe. You could pick up some colored decal film and cut you some stripes to cover the paint break? It's a real fine build though Brent. Very nicely done.
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Nice. Like the paint. This project looks like something from rad rides and they go for subtle for thevpaint.
Brent Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thx guys, this was the repaint shown, didnt quite get it right as well.Interesting idea with decal film. thx.
