carsntrucks4you Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Here some pictures of my '30 Ford Model A Closed Cab pickup. I used Best Model Car Parts conversion kit together with a '30 Model A Sedan. Strombergs from Model Car Garage, with scoops from Replicas Miniatures. Headlights, beauty rings and baby moon caps are from Parts by Park. The exhaust is made out of solder wire and aluminium tubing. Edited August 6, 2015 by carsntrucks4you 1
1930fordpickup Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 This is very cool. How was the fit of the conversion ?
carsntrucks4you Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 This is very cool. How was the fit of the conversion ? There were some problems with centering of the rear wheels in rear fender. I'm not sure if this problem comes from the fenders or the fact that I modified the rear spring. An other issue is the area between door and roof there is a cab of about 1 mm. Otherwise the parts from Best Model Car Parts have a good fit.
carrucha Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Looks good. The surfboard and cooler are a nice touch.
wayne swayze Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 That's cool! A Model "A" pickupwith wide whites, rings and caps.....priceless!
gatorincebu Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Really nice Surf Shop truck! i like it. Be Well Gator
fractalign Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 That's very cool ! Good to see a 30 pickup, they were the closest Ford did to a passenger car based commercial back then !
tim boyd Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Excellent job on this conversion, Cars! The problem with the wheels/tires not being centered in the rear fenders is with the original Revell kit, at least that has been my experience. IIRC it is much worse on the right side (passenger side in US and Germany) than on the Driver's side. Best Regards...TIM

If yes how?
tim boyd Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Cars...no I didn't attempt to fix it, but if I did so, it would involve re-contouring the edge of the fender that envelops the wheel/tire assembly. It could be done by someone experienced in model car bodywork, but it would take some significant time and effort to do so.
