om617 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Not sure at first where to go with this but did settle for a subtile street machine. Older AMT,got it built up as a Nascar, tried to improve it a bit. Comments and constructive critism is welcome. Thanks for looking, here are some pictures.
oldnslow Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Definite improvement, really like the resto-rod look.
mike 51 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 almost didn't look past the 1st pic very nice transformation!
'70 Grande Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Really nice save! I really like the color combination; silver paint with a Red interior! Your foilwork looks outstanding as well; nicely done!
John Goschke Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Great restoration! Really like the color combo and the wheel/tire choice. Nice detailing under the hood, too.Since you asked, my only suggestion would be to add some spacers, or something, to widen the front track width a bit. The wheels look like they're tucked too far inside the wheel well.
StevenGuthmiller Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Nice Tommy! I won't say I'm crazy about the gold wheels, but then again I'm not much of an aftermarket wheels guy. If they're not Cragar S/S, Keystone Classics or the like I'm not interested. Call me old fashioned. But A very nice build & a terrific engine! Nice work! Steve
om617 Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 I`ll check if i have other wheelbacks so the wheelbase improve a bit. Was unsure about color on the Halibrand wheels, but after somegoogling i went for gold like some 60s rods and stuff used, but i might change. The battery is to modern anyway for it to look 60s style. The chrom on bumpers was shot,so i used BMF,also had to make from scratch the fender ornaments,so this is a little rough, but goodpractice. Also tried the melting parts sprue for antenna. The last thing bugging is i have to try to put somthing under the tub to make itmore flush with the window line. Thanks for the comments.
Helix Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Nice work Tommy, I see you BMF'd the bumpers, that must of been a task and a half !! Love the engine detail
rmvw guy Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I like the before better. Just kidding. I like the Pontiac in the first picture. The engine on the Ford looks like it would fire up, nice job.
Maindrian Pace Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Fantastic job. Love the color combo, and the Cammer is perfect. I like the wheels too, that dull gold is the color that many real magnesium wheels started out as, and they look the part. The only thing I would do (as has been suggested) is to move the front wheels out just a little closer to the fenders.
1930fordpickup Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Very cool. I would say you went in the right direction .
Jeremy Jon Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Awesome Tommy!! Truly nicely built, I like the colour combination, and complete look, Excellent, Bravo!!
