Built this model from the AMT Dukes of Hazzard kit. Like I had already used the Dukes decals on what I think should be a General Lee, I built the Dodge in a more "civilian" clothing.

Even me that by no means I'm a Mopar guy, know this kit has some identity issues, not to mention some detail missing, like all the rear view mirrors, the actual pedals, shock absorbers, and radiator hoses, to mention just a few few.

This one isn't AMT best hour, but still buils into a very cool and mean looking musclecar, if you don't care about the wrong grille, or correct grille and wrong rear window... I don't know anymore...

Anyway... The tires and wheels are from my parts box, and came on the AMT '60 Ford Starliner kit. The paint is also left over from the Starliner. It's automotive synthetic enamel. All the rest I painted with Acrilex paints. The foil is household aluminum. I did the foiling on camera, and published on my YouTube account.

Hope you guys like my third ever Mopar build (1969 Coronet Super Bee, 1958 Plymouth Belvedere, and this baby).

The kit itself may be a disappointment, but your paint skills sure aren't. A fantastic mirror finish on the body. As everybody knows...if you're gonna paint a car black the bodywork had better be laser straight. You can't hide anything.

Thanks guys!!!

I guess I could build a 500 grille, but man that makes the car even uglier. All that Nascar madness produced some pretty strange cars, like the Charger 500 the Daytona, Superbird, and Torino Talladega.

You really polished that outdated "organic compound" of a kit , Tulio !

This kit's origins date to 1967 , as an MPC 1968 Charger R/T annual . It was updated to 1969 cosmetics (new upholstery pattern ; new grille ; new tail lamps ; new side markers) , and again in 1970 ( new front fenders / bumper / grille ; and new upholstery pattern , if I remember correctly . New-for-1970 "Rallye Wheels" replaced the previous years' wheels) .

I don't remember when the backlight ( colloquially , "Rear Window" ) was changed to the 500 / Daytona style , but it certainly stuck around during the Dukes of Hazzard era of c.1979 .

I built one of the (dreadful) fast & furious "1970" kits for a friend about 12 years ago . I added the brake booster / master cylinder from the parts bin (to replace the incorrect 1966-style brake master cylinder) .

I think you've done a nice job on this very poor kit. I'm surprised MPC has been able to keep it in production all these years. FWIW, the later versions did fix the problem with the 500 rear window (they swapped out the body with their 70 'fast and furious' charger, which was otherwise identical).
