crazyjim Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Finished another one last night. My '34 Ford is painted with HOK white with some Pearl Ex violet mixed into the clear. Did a wheel/tire swap, otherwise it's all from the kit. Dummy here forgot to take an interior pic. It's the kit interior in white and lavender with deep purple carpeting. I used a cutoff wheel in the Dremel to cut a spot for the taillights.
1930fordpickup Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I like this . The red highlight on the bumper is a great idea.
crazyjim Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Thanks Andy. I have this thing about always using some red when there's purple/lavender around.
JTalmage Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Good looking rod. I'd like to see the back a little more to check out the taillights in the fenders
crazyjim Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Thank you Carl & Jesse. Taillights are just slots cut with a cutoff wheel with red acetate glued inside the fender, Jesse.
JTalmage Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Ah, neat idea. The incision of the cutoff wheel sweeps nicely with the shape of the fender at the bottom. I like.
crazyjim Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 I think it worked out pretty well. I've used the same process to cut horizontal lines before. Red acetate with some BMF on the back does the trick for me too.
PARTSMARTY Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 THIS IS THE BOMB-LOVE IT-LOVE IT LOVEIT-MY KINDA CAR !!!
bogger44 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Sharp build, Jim. Nice paintwork and engine detailing.
cobraman Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 What ! No interior photo ? Oh well, the exterior looks very sharp.
MeatMan Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Really nice! Would have loved to see that color combo on the interior.
crazyjim Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Thank you guys. Sorry about the interior pic. I don't know how I missed taking one.Ray - I think you'll like the interior on the '62 Pontiac I'm building. Full length console between the 4 bucket seats.
RAMBENNA Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 nice looking hot rod , like the color combo

Just fyi, I glued the sides of the hood to the top, to make sure they were correctly positioned, and then you can remove the whole thing for photos of the engine bay!
crazyjim Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Thanks Frank. I remove the hood & sides when the build is on display.
Danno Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Nice. Another example of your bold color choices ~ that always seem to work out just right!
