65slotcar Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 dam, how did you find that! i looked everywhere for a picture. awesome pic! you will need to add the oil fill cap on right fender for this version. Bob Grossman drove this car and like many cobra's they had many different paint jobs and numbers. here is a 1967 picture, i think watkins glen

Yes I have added the fuel filler in the rear fender as well as the remote oil tank and filler in the front fender. Edited March 27, 2016 by afx
afx Posted March 27, 2016 Author Posted March 27, 2016 Mockup while I wait for my painted trunk lid to dry.
afx Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Thank you gentlemen. I've started final assembly. I'll post progress pictures soon.
afx Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Thanks Bruce. I have the wheels and tires painted, will post pictures this afternoon.
Speedfreak Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 oooh JC, that Silver Leaf is killer, did you clear it? And the black side pipes just make it better. What color will the wheels be? This could be the best yet!

Speedfreak Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I don't clear my cars either unless it's base coat/clear paint. Looks like you did a good job getting that Silver Leaf on. I've used Tamiya Titanium Gold from rattle can before, great color, mine always came out like a semi-gloss, should look nice on the wheels. Very nice looking car you have in the making JC. I just finished watching this years race last night.
afx Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 I airbrushed the bottle acrylic. It is a nice color. Haven't watched the race yet but I will. The Silver Leaf paint job is no contest winner but it will do - I ain't paint'n it again.
afx Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 As mentioned above wheels are painted Titanium Gold with a brown wash on the centers. Click on the pictures to see them full scale.
afx Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 Thanks Ray. Surprising how nice the Revellogram Halibrands look once you strip off all the incorrect chrome. I striped the knock-off as well in preparation for paint.
mustang1989 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Man have I ever been outta tha loop on this one!!! Your attention to detail is mind blowing JC!!!! Great work dude! Great work!
