JTRACING Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 jumping in on the roadster madness! I wanted some cool 60's style Flake paint job, so I used some pearl ex powder mixed with black craft paint and ended up with this cool paint job, I'll have to get some outside pics because the flakes really sparkle like crazy! paint still needs to be polished out so dont mind and orange peel I left the pics big so you can at least see the flakes in some detail
Nacho Z Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Wow, that looks like a beautiful paint job. Very nice!
espo Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 You mentioned you still needed to polish the paint ? I wish I could get my paint jobs that smooth after polishing.
wayne swayze Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I must agree with the others, that's a beautiful paint job/colour you have there! Looking forward to your build.
JTRACING Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 That looks great. What ratio did you use? i mixed it in a old model master paint jar. full jar of paint added a heaping end of a Popsicle stick into it. for clear i use diupli-color spray cans.
exesivefire Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Ok I have to know which Duplicolor clear that is? I use it a lot too but I never get a finish like that! Amazing! I picked up some of those pearls the other day, glad to know they work well!
Helper Monkey Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 That paint looks amazing. I never thought of mixing dry pigment into paint to get that kind of effect.
JTRACING Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 I use the acrylic enamel clear, I love the stuff so cheap!
Kustom Rodder Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 The header laying beside the body really shows how deep the shine is super nice paint.
Ramfins59 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 That paint doesn't look like it needs any polishing...... great job.
