Are you looking for materials used to simulate hoses and wiring , or where to route all of the plumbing ?

A more of how to route to type of question.

A Google image search is your friend here then. It's something I do very frequently for any sort of detailing.

Depending on the car, you can often find a specific wiring diagram online, which can be aided by looking at Google images for engine bay and chassis.

Is there a page on this forum for wiring and plumbing engines/motors?

No.

There are literally thousands of different cars/engines/variations; we can't possibly cover them all here. Best bet is a google image search for the specific engine you're looking for.

Harry, I think the question was more like examples of the mechanics of wiring and plumbing an engine versus specific engine applications.  (At least that's the way I interpreted it.)

If by "mechanics of wiring and plumbing an engine" the implied meaning is "the general similarities based on shared functions and operating principles of all gasoline-fueled internal combustion engines" (one possible interpretation), I'd respectfully suggest the OP become somewhat familiar with how IC engines operate, to gain some understanding of the functions of the specific detail parts in question.

Otherwise, topics regarding model-car-specific wiring and plumbing abound.

Seek and you shall find, grasshopper.

somewhere in internetland there's a website that has about a gazillion old model magazine pages. i thought it was Dave Lindsay, but fotki says his account no bueno. find that site, i used to get to it through here:  http://www.socalcarculture.com/modelcars.html  -  and look for an 8 page article by Dennis Doty detailing & wiring engines. it's back from the days when we would run sewing thread through a candle to reduce the fuzz. but the wires still go in the same place and there's some good basic poop in it. maybe some of the Brain-Trust here can post a link.
