I am thinking of attending this event this year and would like to know if anyone in the Niagara/Western NY area that also plans to attend would like to get together to share costs? Split a hotel room for 1 or 2 nights, 1 is fine with me, driving home late wont be an issue for me. I have a large comfortable mini van so I could easily take up to 3 other people, with luggage and kits for display if that's your intention. If interested please PM me and we can swap emails/phone numbers to hash out details.

I live in Dunnville Ontario, so anyone from Hamilton to Fort Erie, or Buffalo NY I could pick up and drop off. If you're further into Ontario, TO/Kitchener/Waterloo region you could always met at my place and leave your vehicle here as I have lots of parking at a private residence.

I'd like to formalize plans sooner rather than later so if interested please let me know ASAP.

David, if you go, you will be hooked.  We always drive down on Friday early and hit a Hobby Lobby near Scranton, PA.  This year we stayed on the Sat. Night and then you're not in a rush to get back home.

I've actually been once, about 15 yrs ago. Was a great event, lots of amazing builds. That event was actually where I picked up my MCW Guardsman blue paint for my GS Daytona coupe,. its only taken a decade and a half for me to finally start to build the darn thing and think about using that paint.

My plan is to go up Friday morning, its only about a 6hr drive or so from where I live and then head home Sat night after the event, tho I wouldn't be opposed to staying the second night. I figured atleast one more person going down with me would mean I have more money to spend on shineys from the vendors :)

So still looking for a co-pilot, and if there's 2 more that would like a ride, my T&C has a tonne of room.

It looks like I'm going to make it this year! An intermediate stop on way to see the grand kids another hour south. I even have two builds since my last time, three years ago. And possible I'll have an entry for the 30th table ... ;)

I'm hoping I manage to meet a few of you all there

I'll be there as usual helping my buddy Tom Valenta who will be shooting pictures for MCM's NNL Show magazine coverage.  We've had our room booked for Friday & Saturday nights since last year's show, and it is confirmed.  Looking forward to the Ramada meet & greet, and the tasty food and Margaritas at the Tilted Kilt.

My brother, Larry, and I (and a few friends) will be heading there with a full minivan early on the Friday......Looking forward to putting faces to the names.   Let's all wear name tags to simplify that part of the meet-n-greet.

Name tags? That would be a great idea for that old guy Raymond who I haven't seen in 50 years :) By the way, who are you :)

Don't forget that the slips that go under the models have space for your cell number. If you want to meet up with people from the board put your numbers down and call each other when you get there.

Ok,

I booked a hotel, though, it isn't the Ramada, it was booked up. I am heading down early Friday morning. My plan is to go to Philly to Simeone for a few hours to check out their vintage racers, especially the Daytona Coupe and GT40 since I've never seen either of them in person. After a few hours there, I'll head up to NJ in time for the 6pm event at the Ramada. If there is anyone in the Niagara region or western NY and you need a ride I have space. Feel free to chip in for gas. Bring your own snacks and music on a usb stick if you like. PM me if you would like to join me for the trip. If not, looking forward to meeting those that are attending this year.

Forgot to add, my hotel room is a double so can split the cost with someone if you need a room.

There will be about 10 of us from the Detroit Area Auto Modelers attending the show.Look for us in our snazzy flamed grey club shirts.

It's the first time for me and I'm  excited about going there.

Just booked our room!   Ramada was sold out, but the Holiday Inn had a suite left for the 3 of us Friday night.. So its confirmed Andy, my dad and I will be there.

The Ramada Inn hasn't been the best at communicating this year.  If indeed we are sold out, I have secured a block of rooms at La Quinta Fairfield at a rate of $82 + tax.    Call the hotel directly for the NNL East rate.

Tom, would you know how far this is from the building where the show's happening?

I also had called the Ramada and the rooms were sold out----I'll be coming in Friday afternoon/evening. I booked a room at the Comfort Inn/Fairfleld. I take it that their right down the road from each other looking at Google Maps. The La Quinta looks to be a little cheaper, but if I can get it at the NNL rate, all the better!

I want to add that it looks like it'll be a bigger show this year than last! I was able to get a room less than a month before the show last year--------not the case this year which is excellent! I'll get to meet some new folks and run into others that I haven't seen for awhile. ;)

I got my room @ The Wayne Inn which is north of the Ramada and closer to Pal Drive. Room is $65 US/night

address is 535 Route 23 South Wayne NJ    ph# 1-973-696-2000

I wouldn't recommend staying there!  We checked out all the area hotels and you may note that this one has never been on our list!

Whoops! Thanks for the heads up Tom! I booked a room at the Comfort Inn, but was thinking about switching to this one since it's a bit cheaper. From the way you've described it though, guess it's a better idea to stay where I am. ;)
