Great start, nice finish as usual. Got one of these in many bits, hopefully it will turn out as a 880 station wagon.

Thanks guys!

Very crisp paint and foil work. Especially well done are those long thin moldings on the upper body edges.

John,

The upper body moldings were especially tough on this one.

This kit has some pretty faint detailing in spots, the moldings being the worst.

By the time you get primer, color & clear on it, the lower edge of the trim was almost non existent.

This is one of those instances when the painters tape comes in very handy.

Progress continues, albeit slow.

Finally finished up the interior today.

It's a pretty nicely detailed interior straight from the box.

The only thing I added was a scratch built steering column, turn signal & tilt wheel levers, door lock buttons & embossing powder on the floor.

The kit shifter was missing, so I had to add one.

I decided to go with all black because I thought it would go better with the black vinyl top.

The "cane" detail on the doors & seat backs adds a nice contrast.

There was a boat load of foiling to do on this interior!

The body is finished except for some minor detailing, so now I need to focus on the engine & chassis.

Hopefully I'll get started on that yet this weekend.

Interior is looking fantastic Steve! I envy you guys that can detail interiors that have the "tub" style. I have to cut away the side panels and reattach them platform style, as I no longer have the patience to get those details crisp and neat looking when they're "boxed in".

The cane detail really adds life to the interior! I've not seen many with this option---------very well done!

Just a couple more pics to prove that I haven't given up on this project.

Of course the chassis on these old annuals are pretty rudimentary, but in comparison to others from the same period, the MPC ones weren't too bad.

The engine is painted & is in the assembly process right now.

It's all coming together.......very slowly! :P

Looks amazing,

But have to ask, Why do the frame rails in black ?

I don't know Bill, I've always done them that way.

I guess just because it adds a little visual interest.

I have no love for chassis anyway, so I have to find some way to keep them interesting.

I figure, if I'm going to just prime, shoot a little over spray & call it good, I just as well shoot the whole thing flat black & call it "under coated". :)

I'm the same way.  For some reason, it just doesn't look complete without the black frame rails.  So far, this is an amazing build, especially the interior.  :)
