GeeBee Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 A few interesting re-releases, the Transit van and Lamborghini Miura are the older Esci models,
iamsuperdan Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Whoa! X3 for the Transit. I wonder if the Diablo and Countach are the old ESCI kits as well. I have all of those in the stash.
martinfan5 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Sorry Geoff, you were beat to it Edited January 26, 2016 by martinfan5
Bennyg Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Lamborghini fans are well catered for. Good year for car people. Ben
Mike999 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 A big X4 for the Transit. Didn't think we would ever see that one again. And very glad the rumor I heard was not true. (The rumor that Ford had ordered the molds destroyed years ago.) I have 2 of the "Canon" version but will probably get another. You can do so many things with that kit.
Young iron Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Will buy the Transit ! And add german plates plus a trailer.
Mr Stock Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Very suprised and pleased to see the Transit back, I had one of the Paris/Daker ones years back and sold it on, and then regretted it ever since, and the prices have gone a little crazy recently.Ill be getting 1 or 2 of those , interested in the Muira too
GeeBee Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Sorry Geoff, you were beat to it If you check the times of each post, you'll see my post was actually posted close on a hour and a half earlier ...

It is clumsy and toylike, detail is sparse, proportions are wrong. This is why I sold mine many years ago.The best Miura on the market is from Hasegawa though it is a late SV version.

Carmak Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I will also be in line to a Transit and a Miura!
Junkman Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 This is going to be horrendously complicated, I know, but I'd love to convert the Transit into this: Then tow the Belkits Escort with it on an Aoshima Brian James trailer.

Sounds like we have the same plan I'm hoping for a aftermarket conversion kit to make it a mk1 Transit.
Junkman Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Whom do you have in mind? Tapani and his collection of dropouts?

Airfix should drop 1/32nd scale, for automotive kits and embrace 1/24th scale for non American subjects. Or do they fear the competition ;^) 'nuff said!
Atmobil Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Whom do you have in mind? Tapani and his collection of dropouts? If they would do it, great! But it does not matter much to me who does it aslong as it is a good one. Rejii Model did a great conversion kit for the Esci Gälendewagen: http://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=16510 and ScaleProduction has several cool transkits including the VW Doka for the Hasegawa kit. C1 models has done several including that very nice VW Caddy pickup. If any of these (or some other good aftermarket producers) make a conversionkit I will buy it.

I support this idea, and in fact, would be all over doing this myself.

Atmobil Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Oh yes!! I would buy them if they did them, that's for sure
Luc Janssens Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Yes sir! Letting Tamiya and Revell Germany tooling up classic British heritage, shame on you LOL. IMHO they should start with a Lotus Cortina MK1, then a Capri MK1.... Edited January 30, 2016 by Luc Janssens
Mr Stock Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 IMHO they should start with a Lotus Cortina MK1, then a Capri MK1....Absolutely !, I'd love to see a Mk1 Lotus Cortina it's such an iconic car and was even raced in the US, I'm quite surprised that Tamiya never released a kit of one.I'm actualy still in shock that the Transit has returned !.
