Mike999 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Wangers talks about his LS-W (W for Wangers) program in his book...Thanks! I need to read that book again. And back on-topic, I guess: according to his friends, blues great Robert Johnson used to admire a 1935 Hudson Terraplane parked in their Memphis neighborhood. In 1936 he recorded a song about it, "Terraplane Blues:"And I feel so lonesome, you hear me when I moanWho's been driving my Terraplane for you since I been gone?I said flash your lights, mama, your horn won't even blowSomebody's been runnin' my batteries down on this machineI said flash my lights, mama, this horn won't even blowGot a short in this connection, well, babe, it's way down below...https://youtu.be/It-tJ8DOjIk

69NovaYenko Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) This list of popular culture car songs would be incomplete without mentioning Princes 1983 hit "Little Red Corvette" form the 1999 album. The song peaked at number six on Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1983. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/10777115/prince_little_red_corvette/ Edited February 27, 2016 by 69NovaYenko
Straightliner59 Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 (edited) How about Rush's "Red Barchetta"? Must be a Ferrari kit somewhere that would fit the bill. steve I'm not sure about a kit, but this is the car you'd want. I love Rush! Neil's inspiration for the lyrics to Red Barchetta came from a short story published in either Car&Driver or Motor Trend called "A Nice Morning Drive", and I don't recall the author's name. Great driving song! Edited October 17, 2017 by Straightliner59

ZTony8 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 A few years ago, one of our club's monthly theme's was "Cars in Song". Of course there were the obligatory GTOs and '32 Fords and Chevy 409s. I, being the contrarian that I am, built a stock AMT '29 Model A. The song? "Henry Made a Lady Out of Lizzie". Not even our member who's in the Model A Restorers Club caught it.
