IceMan Collections Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Alright everyone here is this one I just finished. Lots of fun. Learned a lot. A lot of pics. Edited February 14, 2016 by iceman-555
retired & glad Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Great job. I'm sure it took you a very long time butchering that one.
disabled modeler Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Very nice weathering..!....I like it...! I need to learn more about this stuff.
IceMan Collections Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Thank Rick, Richard and Mark. I found it more challenging than a shiny build.
Mr mopar Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Gee I was hoping it was a 55 nope it's a 56 ...................nice build ! A lot of rust just the way I like 56's rusty and dusty......LOL
CometMan Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Very cool Joel! Always nice to see something out of the ordinary!
CometMan Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Gee I was hoping it was a 55 nope it's a 56 ...................nice build ! A lot of rust just the way I like 56's rusty and dusty......LOLVery true Doug! But a '57 shouldn't even be allowed to stay that nice!!
Tom Geiger Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Hey Joel! You put a lot of effort into this one and overall did a great job! I especially like your attention to detail in the interior and the way you made broken glass. I can see you are hooked and this won't be your last rusty build. There are a few things I see, and I'd be happy to critique it if you'd like. Either here or in a PM. Let me know!
Jonathan Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Might need a Tetanus Shot after that! Nice work!
IceMan Collections Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Doug is absolutely correct. This is a 56. Typo. Thank you al for your comments.Tom, I would love to get your feedback. I'm good if you do it here. im sure others may find it insightful too. I will tell you, I really enjoyed working on this one. The next one I will pay more attention to all the trim for sure. And maybe wear gloves more often. I was itchy every time I worked on it. Haha!
charlie8575 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 What a piece of junk! I mean that in the nicest possible way. About the only thing I would've done is to paint the wipers and window trim with a mix of steel and silver to simulate weathered, dulled stainless steel. Charlie Larkin
Tukkerdax Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 You did a great job on this one. Like it a lot. !!
IceMan Collections Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks everyone. You're absolutely right Charlie. Something I have in mind for my next one.
espo Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 So sad, but so real looking. This should be in a diorama or something.
Ulbo Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I´m not good in this kind of weathering but in my opinion it looks awesome. Congrat great built!!!
IceMan Collections Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks David and Rastislav. It deserves a nice base but this is for a contest in which we sell the builds to see which one gets the highest bid. I believe there are about 10 entries with this same kit. We'll see how it does against the rest.
Sixties Sam Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 That looks terrible.......just like it should! Great detail and weathering work!Sam
IceMan Collections Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thank you Sam and Dave. I kept telling myself the same thing. This looks like garbage!
satterwhite78 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Like the KoolAid man says..." Ooooohhhh Yeeeaaa"! Looks fantastic, I was wondering where you dragged it off to when you got the tractor and pulled it off my lot! LOL!
