martinfan5 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Heller kit, painted with Tamiya Met Blue (disclaimer time, still getting use to the new camera)
GeeBee Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Superb build Jonathan, any problems with the build ??
Foxer Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Cool .. good to see one of these done, and so well!WARNING: Do NOT take this vehicle out to a Skid Pad!
kilrathy10 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Great job on this one, Man....As usual....Way to make such a sheer purpose built vehicle look good......
peekay Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Excellent!Maybe the last thing I expected to see as a 1.24th kit! But a really nice build like this could whet a few appetites - I hope so, Heller should be rewarded for their bravery.
Jim B Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Interesting little car. I'd never heard of one before. Looks like Saturn wasn't the first car manufacturer to use plastic body panels.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_M%C3%A9hari
martinfan5 Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 Superb build Jonathan, any problems with the build ??Geoff , here is my response I posted on Facebook for the very same question I dont want to say it was bad, it was not a just add paint and glue to the box and shake. Its a simple kit, and most of its straight forward , there are some steps that the instructions are not very clear. The gear shift lever , it tells you cut the knob off, and then stick thru the hole in the fire wall, you dont need to do that, you can, if you are very careful, put the end without the knob thru the firewall. Issue I had with fitting the exhaust pipe, you have to put it on after you attach the body/frame, but it was lining up inside the engine compartment , so I trimmed a little bit of it and it fit, its not connected to anything though lol.On to the engine , the half shafts caused the engine to stickup in the rear. They seem to be just a tad bit to long , and when attached to the inside of the hub. I didnt cut down the exhaust like the suggestion booklet tells you too, I cut it down at the rear The tires do no not want to stay on the wheels, I used parts box headlight lenes instead of the kit supplied not chromed headlight buckets . Fit issue with the hood, and it wont sit flush like is supposed too, I had to trim done the two pins, bend them down, and open the openings on the dash to get it sit semi flush with the body. Pro tip , Tamiya's 18mm masking tape is the perfect width for the part of the windshield you have to mask.
PatW Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 That looks just superb Jonathan! That's definitely on my 'to buy' list for this year. I still have the Citroen HY Van to get on with.
