MrObsessive Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I know there are a few here that are older than 66, but I'll let them make themselves known if they'd like.

Tom Geiger Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 66 is probably median age for car modelers! I'll be 75... someday! I'm working on 58 this September and don't want to rush that!
High octane Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I've got you beat Stan...... I just turned 69 today. A VERY Happy Birthday to you Richard, and many more.

As long as you enjoy the hobby, that's all that counts.
modelercarl Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Thank You Nick. One nice thing about this age is that if you only get the bumpers mounted in one day, that's good enough, no need to sweat the small stuff.
Snake45 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I'm fifty-'leven. Started building model cars exactly 50 years ago this year. (Started with model airplanes six or seven years before THAT.)

Ramfins59 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Thank you all for your kind Birthday wishes.Yes Bill, I'll be at the Tilted Kilt on Friday night and look forward to seeing you there too.Carl, I agree. There's no rush to get a model done.... a little here and a little there... it'll get done eventually.
Harry Joy Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 50But I've never been certain how to factor my replacement parts. If they stack with my age, that makes me 66. If I average them out, I'm 22.
MrBuick Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 29....didn't pick up the hobby until I was almost 27. I built a few snap kits and a glue kit or two when I was a kit, but I never did any painting...all my glue bombs were left whatever color the stuff was molded in. Still, I wish I would have held onto those kits (my parents threw them out after I left them in their attic for like 5 years)...I've paid good money to get a few of those kits that I remember from my youth so I could try and do them right (well, at least right-er!).
1972coronet Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I'll be chronologically-turning 46 on 16th April ( @ 0200 hrs ) . I've been building for 40 years , more on than off ( took a 'sabbatical' in my mid-20's in order to pursue females ... I sure do miss that gal whom looked and dressed like Twiggy ! ) . My vision is going to the trash , at least compared to how precise it was until 3 years ago !
