disabled modeler Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I started building in the early to mid 70s at 6 or 7 years old....there were great kits out back then...miss them. Happy birthday folks... ...hope you all have many many more and with plastic.
landman Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I'll be 65 in August. I started in the 50's when my uncle gave me four or five WWII fighters, Spitfire. Mustang, Messerschmitt, Zero and I can't think of the other one. Next came the 1939/40 Ford kit and hundreds following that.A truck period in the 70's. Classic cars in the latter part. I built pretty well throughout my life with a few dry spells. The last 2000-2014 was the longest. I was on the road a lot and I built models in my hotel room to stay out of the bars .
High octane Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 69 and 70 come summer if August will get hereDon't rush time, as August will get here Mike. BTW, you and I have the same birth/year date.
snacktruck67 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 The 21st was my day. It was a Thursday at 19:30 hours and it was raining outside. At least that is what I was told.
Greg Myers Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Put me down for 69. I remember , back in the day, my Dad would build us some of those wonderful Monogram aircraft kits. Watching him build and being an impatient young lad, somewhere along there I started build my own self. First car kits I remember building, Monogram Long John Dragster and seeing the first AMT '32's on the shelf.
Russell C Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 The legendary Jim Keeler, of Revell design fame and "Dodge Fever" fame, has his birthday today according to Facebook. No sure if he is older than 66, but since he did the write-up of the Dodge Fever II in 1969 and was at least 20 years old at the time, he could have that figure beat by a year or two....Happy Birthday Jim!
cobraman Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 He is listed in the birthday section as being 75. Happy birthday Jim !
oldcars Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Hit the big 70 last November. Figure I still have a good 30 years left to build models (at least).Richard

doctor phillips Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 67 here.... and I'm still under warranty. Happy Birthday to those celebrating!! I'm with ya Greg... once I got my formerly young hands on the Long John Dragster, and the AMT '32 I was hooked for life.
Snake45 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 67 here.... and I'm still under warranty. That's right. IIRC, "three score and ten" is considered a full pull per the Owner's Manual.
Foxer Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 August 1st is 70 ... this one is hitting me hard, but hasn't slowed me down ... nothing can slow my natural glue pace
charlie8575 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 40, didn't build too much from about 2000-06 because life really got in the way. When everything else fell apart, reading and building became my refuge.Charlie Larkin
