slusher Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 At least shipping is only $4.99... For each part he does not combine shipping...at all
Brett Barrow Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Combined shipping - another area where folks don't read/follow instructuons and then ding you. They'll go and pay for each listing separately and then leave you negative feedback when you don't go back and combine it for them after the fact or you don't notice that these separate orders are going to the same person. Request combined shipping, then wait for the seller to send you a combined invoice then pay that, dont pay for each item! Happens all the time, I'd say at least half of our daily eBay messages are about getting a shipping refund because they didn't wait for the combined invoice. Luckily somebody else in the office handles our eBay stuff, I don't have the patience for it. Sounds like this guy got fed up with it. I'm sure I probably have a different opinion of this guy than everybody else on the board, but I know what he probably goes through on a daily basis. He just has an IDGAF attitude that I kinda respect on a personal level, but I dont think is the best way to run a business on a professional level.
keyser Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Life's too short to wade thru his nonsense for an overpriced kit part, or anything else. Even if it was reasonable, he's a time waster just covering his own rear. If it's that aggravating, quit.

Russell C Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 ..... Maybe he meant 99 cents and fell asleep on the 9 button. That's why I filter out his listings! Did you guys know that the part is not for a real truck but for a model?? He must repeat that at least 1001 times. No, this PJ fellow is Mr $X9.99, where x = a number between 1 and 9, so in his haste to bash out the listing, he probably just leaned on the 9 key a bit heavily. Yep, I figured out how to filter his listings buy putting a minus sign in front of the word "only" in the Parts category search window. Wipes out most of his listings since he tends to use that word frequently in his headings. Just like MrObsessive said, no joke, he really did launched into a total meltdown in his item description text. Scroll down there, the text gets bigger and bigger. Wow.
slusher Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) That's why I filter out his listings! How do you filter this out??.. The seller of all these parts never combines shipping no matter how much he sells to one buyer... Edited April 14, 2016 by slusher
Mike999 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 How do you filter this out??.. The seller of all these parts never combines shipping no matter how much he sells to one buyer...Like Russell C said above: you can put "-only" in your search, since he uses the word "only" in almost all of his part listings.I sometimes filter him by using "-vhtf" and/or "vtg." 2 more of his favorite things to put in listing titles. But sometimes I don't filter, just for the entertainment. It's fun to see his "VHTF VTG RARE KIT!1!" listed at $179.99. Followed by 10 or 12 more of the same identical "rare" kit starting at $19.99 or so.
CometMan Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Good idea. Too bad we can't get a few more thousand folks to do the same thing. I'm all in, maybe we can get a movement going!!
Tom Geiger Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I really don't understand the point of his ad? He's got ya'll talking doesn't he? Any press is good press...
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I'm all in, maybe we can get a movement going!! He's kinda thin skinned. I mentioned his piggy greedy business practices a few years back on a board, and he tracked my then-partner's name and phone number down from our website and called him up whining about me being mean. Or something to that effect. Whatever. It doesn't seem to have cost him any sales, so I guess there are still plenty of suckers in the world.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 He's got ya'll talking doesn't he? Any press is good press... Ummm...but nobody here is going to be BUYING. That's the point.

Ace-Garageguy Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 (edited) I'm all in, maybe we can get a movement going!!With the power of social media, it shouldn't be too hard to make everyone in the barely-literate universe aware that he's NOT the guy you buy parts from unless you're really REALLY desperate. But people are generally afraid to speak out and name names, so the bozos of the world keep on keeping on. Edited April 15, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy

But people are generally afraid to speak out and name names, so the bozos of the world keep on keeping on.And why does everyone here care? The guy has figured out an angle, and he wouldn't be doing it in that volume and for the length of time he's been at it if he wasn't making money. The people he sells to post positive feedback. So everyone in those transactions are happy. It's nobody's business, and it doesn't affect anyone here. I'm happy I'm not supporting this guy and his family on welfare. For all the guys on this board who whine they have no money, analyze his business and compete with him. Nothing like a bit of competition to bring prices down! And this is nothing! If you want to see crazy, go to the stamp category. Many, many companies trying to sell very common stuff for major money. Edited April 15, 2016 by Tom Geiger

berr13 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 To eliminate a seller from your eBay results, find the blue box that says "search" at the top right of the page, and click the word "advanced" that is to the right of that, in smaller letters. That takes you to a new page where you can customize your searches. Drop to the bottom of that page, to the section that's titled "sellers", Click the box that says "only show items from",click the "specific sellers" button, then hit the arrow to the right of "include", highlight "exclude" from the drop down results (the only other choice given), then type in the name of the seller you want to exclude in the box to the right. Last step is to click "search" at the bottom of the advanced page. If all goes according to plan, in the category "parts", you'll have excluded about 25% of the listings (if we're all talking about the same seller!).

john sharisky Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Ummm...but nobody here is going to be BUYING. That's the point. I just checked my eBay account. I've purchased six times from this seller in the past year (usually multi-part sales). Never a problem. I'm there to purchase model car parts - not to judge a sellers acuity. John

MrBuick Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Lol! I know he's trying to make a point but he's flown off the handle for a pretty stupid reason. 99% of people who would even be looking for that part aren't going to spend the time reading far enough to see his disclaimer about the price...the only reason anyone would open it in the first place is out of shock, and as soon as you see the red bold letters and the same thing over and over again, I for one assume the dude's simply a nut case and wouldn't do business with him even if he said he'd accept a reasonable offer...pretty unprofessional considering he has an ebay store.

dshue76 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Worked like a charm. take a look at his kit prices, it looks like he prices them at what he would charge to part them out. $300 for the AMT 84 GMC and it's not the fall guy version. He sells the tires alone for $30. I need a grill for that kit but at his prices I'll either scratch build a custom or buy a new kit from the local hobby shop for just a few dollars more.
