I really want to build one of the early 70s Torino GT loke this, I can only find the S&H Kits. Is it JoHan?
RestoModGuy Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 what kt is this? I really want to build one of the early 70s Torino GT loke this, I can only find the S&H Kits. Is it JoHan?Ken, I got really lucky on this kit. Yes, this one is the Johan Snaptite kit, no engine and low level detail. This one was a junk-yard paint bomb off ebay, missing front grill and bumpers. Lucky to have ordered those from Modelhaus one of the last days they were taking orders a few months ago, and lucky they must have had them in stock since I got them so quickly decided to move this one up on the build list.
RestoModGuy Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 That is beautiful! Assuming you might be saying that about the Torino, thank you Harry, I have period correct Ford mirrors painted and going on this weekend...
Intmd8r Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Nice builds Ronny - any more pics of the Benz?
horsepower Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 You are correct. I did read the title wrong. This means i'll have to buy my friend a case of beer to replace the one I had "won". plus one to pay him for the bet you lost??
yellowsportwagon Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Just painted 1972 Grand Torino Sport - Duplicolor Electron Blue Pearl Metallic with lot's of polished and buffed clear coats Just painted 1972 Grand Torino Sport - Duplicolor Electron Blue Pearl Metallic with lot's of polished and buffed clear coats Possibly the most unappreciated car Ford ever built.A beautiful car along with its sister Montego GT. You did that car justice.Perfect paint perfect stance perfect tire size. Put some sport mirrors on it and put it front and center where it belongs! Way to go. Tim
maltsr Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Some amazing paint jobs here. I'm rather pleased how this one turned out:
Intmd8r Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Cool effect Dave! At first glance, I thought I was looking at another "shiny" black paint job.The paint fade on the side is perfectly executed.
D. Battista Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Thank You Steve..!Cool effect Dave! At first glance, I thought I was looking at another "shiny" black paint job.The paint fade on the side is perfectly executed.
D. Battista Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Another one of my favorite paint jobs.... blue side panels and flames are auto touch up paint decanted and sprayed with an airbrush the rest are decals.
DeeCee Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) A couple more. Edited July 25, 2017 by DeeCee

Harold Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Here's a couple from last year, The Predicta is Dupli-Color Anodiized Red over silver with a few clear coats. The Hudson is Dark Cranberry with several coats of clear.
Ron Hamilton Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I am pretty happy with the paint on these...
peekay Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Ron, that Buick is a real knock-out.I much prefer the toned down look of the '60 to the '59. Same with the Cadillacs from those years.
