Phoro-etched screen source?

It's been a while since I've hunted model goodies on the web. Where can I find photo-etched hex pattern mesh besides Detail Master? Nothing against them, but the minimum order policy means I have to buy stuff I don't want in order to get the one item I do want. Thanks!

Check out Plano Model Products. They may have something for you, it is under HO scale, scratchbuilding materials. I've used the p/e for 1/24 & 1/25 grille screens.

For small items I have used the screens they sell for smoking pipes. They are usually small and less than an inch in diameter. Check with any local smoke shops to see if they have anything larger.

I don't believe I've ever seen Hex shaped screens for my pipe ... even when it was made in '70

An Australian eBay seller named "a-modeler" has Eduard photoetched mesh in many styles and the prices are reasonable, even with shipping from down under; I've bought a couple sheets from them. Here's the 4x4 hex pattern; there's also 6x6 (I believe the intended scale is 1/35):

I found this one in a hobby shop. You might be able to Google the company. I haven't tried. It is expanded metal style.

The Scale Scenes mesh screen is good stuff! I used it to replace the molded in grille on my Magnum Wagon model years ago.

KA models use to have all different types for screen.  Hex, square, diamond, round etc.  I just did a search but couldn't find it easily.  I am sure if you spent the time you could come up with it.

 Brian, Hobby Design has HD05-0007 which might fit your need. It's a Hexagon Pattern Photoetch Sheet. Strada ( http://www.stradasportsstore.com ) has it listed at their site.
