69NovaYenko Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) Is there anyone offering a "HOODSTOOTH" pattern decal? Edited May 28, 2016 by 69NovaYenko
69NovaYenko Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Thank you for the correction Harry...darn computers "auto correct" changed it.
sjordan2 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 They're out there, but I can't remember the supplier. But if you search for houndstooth pattern in Google Images, you'll find a zillion variations that you can manipulate for color and size, then print on decal paper.
MrObsessive Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I was going to mention Scale Motorsport, but checking their patterns they're a bit too square and not quite matching houndstooth. You can "tile" the image as your screen background, do a screen capture, then copy the pattern that way.

Exotics_Builder Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I make my own on clear decal paper. I just found a good Houndstooth pattern and replicated it to a large decal sheet.

Yep, Mr Obsessive I was that one also, it kinda close but not exactly on point. I think I`ll shot an e-mail to Matthew at Scale Motorsports inquiring if they have a hoodstooth upholstery decal sheet. mikemodeler Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 The Revell 69 Camaro Convertible had the houndstooth decals in the kit, what car are you looking to put those decals on?
69NovaYenko Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) A Revell `69 Camaro hardtop. Edited May 30, 2016 by 69NovaYenko

jjsipes Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Keith Maks Decals http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/chevy/camaro/69_camaro_pace_car/69_camaro_pace_car.htmlMaybe e-mail him and see if he can set you up with some if you do not want the whole sheet
sjordan2 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Just a tip. You can print your own decals on either inkjet or laser decal paper; laser will print sharper at small scales, and if you make your graphics file to scale, you can take laser decal paper and a CD of your file to a place like Staples, Office Depot or UPS store for laser printing.PS...For large-scale kits, say 1/12 or 1/8, you can get cotton cloth for inkjet printers at hobby shops like Michael's, Hobby Lobby or A.C.Moore. I found mine in the T-shirt decorating area. Faster to shop online. Edited June 1, 2016 by sjordan2
69NovaYenko Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Thanks for the suggestion jjsipes and sjordan2..
Mr mopar Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 you would think somebody would have made a decal sheet of this by now !
cook_dw Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Not to geek out on Camaro knowledge but its funny the convertible kit came with the houndstooth as the 1:1 car you could not get houndstooth in a convertible outside of the Pace cars.
Deano Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) Scale Motorsport used to make Houndstooth decals. They were set #1970. I have a sheet right here in front of me. They're no longer in their catalog. I'll try to get a photo posted a bit later; I'm on my way out to cut grass. Edited June 8, 2016 by Deano

Exotics_Builder Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I have that decal in my stash, I didn't think it was a true Houndstooth. I will go check it out this PM
Deano Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) Here it is. Edited September 23, 2017 by Deano
Exotics_Builder Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Okay, Dean was first. but a Houndstooth pattern is this: And I don't think the 1970 SMS pattern is correct for that.
Mike Chernecki Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Keith Marks has the houndstooth pattern on his 1969 Camaro Pace Car decals.
