Matt Bacon Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 http://www.autoweek.com/article/24-hours-le-mans/posche-ford-gt-win-24-hours-le-mansWell done to Chip Ganassi and the whole team of engineers and drivers. Couldn't have turned out better for the big anniversary!best,M.
花火 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Porsche and Ford. Yeah. make it two, haha! BTW, Ford GT looks really good, just wondering if there is going to be made into models...revell or whatever..
Jhedir6 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 make it two, haha! BTW, Ford GT looks really good, just wondering if there is going to be made into models...revell or whatever..So far the only GTLM of the new Ford I've heard of is from Carrera slot cars. They have it up on there site in 1/24 scale, but no pics the last time I checked. I've not heard of anyone else doing one. Hopefully Carrera will release the plain white body like they have for other cars. I know alot of the Flying Lizard Porsches that have been done guys used the Carrera body along with the Fujimi kit. I tried in the past to get a plain white shell of the 911 from Carrera and was told they dont offer it that way even though there were sellers on Ebay from Germany offering the body alone. If they do that for the Ford GT that would be great, but either way I'm still going to do my own, or at least try.David
unclescott58 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Okay, the Ford GT took its class. But, how did it do overall?
Quick GMC Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Okay, the Ford GT took its class. But, how did it do overall?why does that matter? completely different types of cars. It finished 18th overall, behind all the LMP1 and LMP2 cars. Not even in the same ballpark
Matt Bacon Posted June 19, 2016 Author Posted June 19, 2016 Okay, the Ford GT took its class. But, how did it do overall?...well, it beat the nearest Ferrari, which is kinda the bar they set themselves. It's the closest you'll get to a "win on Sunday sell on Monday" class these days... LMP1/2 is whole different ball game. The unsung heroes of this year's battle are the Alpine/Nissan guys -- 1st in the LMP2 class first time out (for a good few years, anyway).bestest,M.
Crazy Ed Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I'm sure not knockin' Fords Win and infact am Really Glad they Won, but were it not for wavers they would not have been in the Race! So a Big Thank You goes to all the Manufactures Ford beat for their permission to run.
JTalmage Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I heard they had to tell Ford to turn the boost DOWN in those cars because they're such monsters.

Slot car, just to me, a little bit less-details..
keyser Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Ford and Ganassi did well. Even with the penalties ACO mandated after qualifying. I loathe ACO for that habit of theirs. GT has huge power out of the Ecoboost V6. Aero is minimally changed from production car too. 50 years out, and they're winning in the class that approximates the Mk II win. LMP's are just too far out there from a useable car. Great race, save for FS1 and FS2 coverage.
