For the past several months I have had zero interest in building. Just wasn't motivated to do it. Then the other day, while browsing around the internet and ebay, I came across these two kits. After doing a google search and looking at some photos of both kits, I knew I had to have them. The level of detail is just amazing... just the way I like my kits... the more parts, the better!

Ordered them both yesterday and can't wait to get my hands on them. I think my motivation is back!

Kevin, I am psyched! After seeing photos of these two models online, I am about as excited about starting a new project as I've ever been. The only downside is that they're "only" 1/12 scale and not 1/8... but I'll take them! :D

That is very good news. Those look like cool kits. I'm sure that with all the improvements you normally do these may take you awhile.  Looking forward to following along.

Ray, I plan on doing a full-blown WIP on both. I know the subject matter doesn't interest most of the members here, but maybe I can show some tricks and techniques that apply to any model kit.

I'm glad you found something new and exciting to get you pumped and building....they sure look like beautiful kits for sure...wish I could get that mojo back like you have, Harry,,,,I have 4 kits half built and am happy with them, but can't seem to just sit down and actually do the real work....I'm buying more and more, yet building less and less...lol....the Ace.....

well, this is my kind of car, so I'll be sitting here watching. These are both awesome looking vehicles.

I'd have to agree, Harry, subject matter is everything. I must confess that I routinely dismiss about 85% of what I see here as being completely irrelevant to my interests, but a well done model, of any subject matter, is always a plus.

Me too!  Where did you find the kits, on-line distributor or eBay?

I did a price search and found the best price on Hobbylinc.com. Got the Grand Prix for $148 and the Mefistofele for $169... both way below MSRP. And shipping was only 9 bucks! Plus no sales tax.

God bless Google, and God bless the internet! :D

Yep, that car was a monster back in its day.

Let's see given the Tires wern't rated safe at much of Any Speed, the safety equipment was a (optional) Leather Skull Cap and the Brakes on todays Shifter Karts are vastly superior to what was on that Car, I'd have to say at any speed over 50mph or so That Puppy is Still a Monster!!

Good to see you returning to Cars. The Street Cars were Neat, But Road Racers of any Vintage, YEA!

Ha, you must mean my models!  I'll get 100 views and 2 comments.  I just laugh and imagine guys looking at my light commercial project, thinking to himself, "Dam, not a Hemi." And clicking back to the index!

Give these boys some culture Harry!   :D

Aside from the Christmas truck I just saw, I don't recall seeing anything from you lately, Tom. You normally only build trucks?

OK Harry...... Send some of that rekindled mojo fire this way would ya...... I could use some.

Sorry, Rich... it took me several months to get it back, and I don't have any extra to send your way! :P

Don't worry. Just like I got the bug back, you will, too.
