Nice start Ray, love the wheel and tire choice. Looks like the 57 Corvette tires and wheels. Try to stay busy I know your hurting brother...

Mine was cool in the fact it did not have a rear seat. There was frame work and a platform with a mattress. A little short but worked good when I was working a night shift and my boss was late to open up. I could grab a few winks.

      Ray,

If you are doing this just like the one

in the photo, it's going to look really

cool for sure!

  I'm watching with great interest.

Ray,

I too think you are selling yourself short !!!  I could (would) help you any way I can with the paint (see my profile) How cool would that be to have replica of a vehicle you once owned.. I say go for it!!

This photo was taken before my changes ( good or bad ). I put on air shocks and radial TA's on Anson polished wheels all around with larger ones on the rear. I also had a set of Show Tubes installed. Remember those stupid things. BTW thank you for the offer of help.

I did some suspension mods and did a quick mock up. This will be a panel since I had a panel back in the day. Color undecided at this point. Squeezing in a 427 engine from a Cobra kit.

Thanks. This engine is rather large coming from a 1/24 Cobra kit but I think I can make it work. I will have to either have a hole in the hood and then perhaps a scoop. ???

Any chance of putting a small spacer between the K member and the frame to lower the engine slightly below the hood line without too much height at the front of the car?

If the engine sits on the K member anyway the oil pan won't be any closer to the ground than it would be already. Or you could make a modified K member that would drop the engine below the hood line. Again, the oil pan to ground clearance won't be affected.

Something along these lines maybe? This is definitely more complex than a scale representation would be but you get the picture.

Lookin' forward to seeing more progress.

Sprayed the body today. Went with Flaming Orange as the first color. Then I masked it and sprayed the second color which is Da Ja Blue. Not sure the combo works but as I am at least partly color blind I think it looks ok if not good. Still needs to be cleared.
