Porscheman Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 This is a Blvd. Resin transkit. The kit comes with a beautifully done body, complete interior, bumpers and headlights. the bumpers and headlights need plating, I Alclad mine. The glass is from an AMT 58 Chevy and the chassis is a modified Revell 58 Chevy. I used almost a half a sheet of Bare Metal Foil. All in all, a very well done kit and for $50.00 a must have for Cadillac lovers. Thanks for looking Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
espo Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Great looking color. Love the cars of that era but the models will use a LOT of foil.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It looks awesome. I wouldn't mind building one. For me foil is almost for free.
Porscheman Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Thanks everyone. Tulio, Blvd. Resin Cadillac are sold on their Facebook page. It looks awesome. I wouldn't mind building one. For me foil is almost for free.
TLes Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Looks fantastic, I couldn't do that much foil. I'm still having trouble with windshields.
wisco8 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 She is sure pretty!! Excellent build Al.Steve
58 Impala Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Nice job. 1958 was the year GM went crazy with chrome on all their brands.
Carmak Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Useless trivia: I had a 58 Fleetwood parts car years ago. There is no sheet metal behind those massive qtr panels. They are screwed on along the top and have a couple angled supports.at the bottom. Also the skirts are nearly as heavy as a cylinder head.
MrObsessive Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) Very nice work Al! One of my favorite '50's Cadillacs! I checked out their Facebook page and they've got some very interesting offerings! That Lincoln Mark V looks like it has some potential, and I may look into that one further. geetee66 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 A real beauty!Well worth the time spent with the BMF
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 How did I miss this? Nice work Al! I'm guessing that this is a copy of the Johan promo. I have one of the X-EL versions that I built probably more than 25 years ago that I want to re-do. You're correct, it was a butt load of foiling to do. Can't say that I'm looking forward to doing it over again. Steve
