SamBred Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 im thinking about getting a kit to do air brush painting. I was wondering what brands and types of air brush paint does everyone like use?
Snake45 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 My favorite is Testor or Model Master enamel, thinned with common lacquer thinner.
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Model Car World, (MCW) is what I use.The colors available are endless & the metallics are to the correct scale. Steve
crazyjim Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 HOK from Coast Airbrush. I get the pre-mixed stuff in 2 oz bottles.
Miatatom Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I decant Tamiya lacquers and spray them through a Passche H.
Art Anderson Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Any paint that can be thinned can be sprayed through an airbrush, plain and simple. Art Anderson
Draggon Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Testor's Aztec. It's pre-thinned, has great pigment, and is very forgiving. Drys matte, so clear is needed. Theirs is excellent. IMO if you haven't airbrushed before, this is the way to go. http://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/aztek/airbrushable-acrylic-paint
astroracer Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Nail polish, simple as that. It is lacquer based, thins easily and sprays very well. Go to the Dollar Store and pick up three bottles of polish to do one model. The colors are endless and, for 5 or 6 bucks, the price can't be beat. You will need to prime with PlastiKote or Dupli-Color light grey sandable primer.Mark
