66 Ford Fairlane

 A friend gave me a 427 kit with damaged A-pillars. I had a Fairlane GT body with a damaged Vent window pillar. Fixed the bad vent window and built the kit, Hood is a Modelhaus resin piece. Scripts were foiled before paint and lightly sanded prior to clear. Paint is Duplicolor Universal Silver with Duplicolor clear coat. Interior is Duplicolor Cardinal Red over white primer to make it look bright. Wheels are Pegasus.

That looks very good. The dash is especially impressive. But there seems to be a problem with the scripts... they're all painted body color! Same with the door locks and trunk lock...

Looks really good, and Glory Hallelujah, is that a fully chromed A pillar, just like the real ones? Ertl messed that portion of the kit up (along with too low of  windshield and backlight height) so most builders have a body color A pillar. Either way, seriously nice looking build.

Hi Tony - For me, it is much easier to lay down a strip of foil and cut as close as I can to the script then paint, several coats, let dry, and lightly sand the scripts using 3200, 3600 or 4000 grit paper. This allows the foil to come through looking as chrome. Then apply several coats of clear. I only do this method for scripts. All other foiling is done after painting and buffing out. Hope this helps
