gtx6970 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Build what YOU want and pay no attention to the naysayers. Life is too short to worry about others opinions. Model on.
Metaldrumm Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Yeah ,that will be cool if u pull it off, looks good so far
James2 Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 One last test fit and then disassembly. Please disregard the interior color, THAT is not happening! Got most everything cleaned up and ready for primer, just need to fit the shocks now...
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Looking good, James. Glad to see the update.
mod3l Lover Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 I love it!! Very cool indeed, keep up thegreat work on this one. David S.
exesivefire Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Really glad to see this.. it will be many projects before I think I'll even start this one. And in typical me fashion I would never be this far this quickly. You need to teach me some of this focus you have been talking about. This one is shaping up rather nicely James. Eric is correct. (And so is James we did discover we both enjoyed this one enough to build it) and I did pick up a grand sport and that gasser vette kit for this very reason. I also would do an "inspired" build as I can't really bring myself to do replicas. Part of the fun for me building models is not knowing what the end result will be. ive seen the mongoose car in person, and I like it's funky stance, it certainly does its job bringing your attention to their booth. I have quite a few pictures if you want them I can shoot them in a text or few. Just a warning though I may sneak an emoji or five in ??
James2 Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Thanks Andy, a 3/4rear shot would be cool and maybe an interior one. But like you said, it's not a replica build. I like to be surprised at the final product too!The focus comes from many hours of training, sacrifice and extreme cost. Not to mention it's winter here and not much else to do!1-2 emojis are ok but I do have my limits.
randyc Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Keep going! It's a MODEL car. And it is inspired by a real car. I love the exaggerated stance. Can't wait to see it completed.
tbill Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 wow, I am totally digging this build, very cool!
Metaldrumm Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Hey james being an experienced builder ,i can say ur on the right track, there are guys on here with no class ,tact or people skills dont worry bout them do what u do best, model on, nice work
James2 Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 It's all good, Metald. People are passionate about all kinds of things and most like to show how smart they are about those things. Me, I'm passionate about GOD, Family and Country. Modeling is just a hobby!
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Any more progress on this. Think its a cool project.
James2 Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Not right now. Unfortunately my ability to paint requires warmer weather. So I wait and build.
disconovaman Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 This is a 12th scale vette as a Gasser that one of my fellow club members built awhile back, Hope you don't mind me sharing it here. If nothing else it will give you more inspiration. Nice work on yours so far!
CRANMAN1 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Yeah seen that model @ the show. Always enjoy going to the MDA Roanoke show.
disconovaman Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Yeah seen that model @ the show. Always enjoy going to the MDA Roanoke show. Awesome! I can't wait til March... I have some projects in the works for this year's show. A vette as a matter of fact is one that I'm expecting to have finished.
James2 Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Andy you read my mind. So happy to get some paint sprayed the last couple of days... Edited February 22, 2017 by James2
