curt raitz Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 My second 1957 Corvette for the upcoming NNL West show in January 2017. This is based on the 1/25 scale AMT #6355 "1957 Chevrolet Corvette Gasser" kit. To say this kit is rough, would be an understatement! But it was in the cupboard and nobody else was gonna build it. So I gave it a whirl. Definitely eBay material after the NNL West. Paint is MM Bright Calypso Metallic #28149 with Tamiya TS-7 "Racing White".
Snake45 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Not bad at all! You did as good a job making that backbirth front end fit and still function as anyone I've seen, and better than most. I ended up gluing mine on solid and then doing a buttload of bodywork to get it to look like it belonged. Great color choice and finish!
donb Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Nice Gasser. Like the color and the engine details.
bogger44 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 This has to be the best build I've seen of this kit. And that color, oh man does that look good on it! Great job on persevering through till the end.
AC Norton Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 looks great, Curt....I love Vette gasser's and early Vette drag cars.....nice work, the Ace...
JTRACING Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Nice build! I remeber doing this kit with my friend way back in the day, sleepover weekend lol
slusher Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Outstanding model Curt. Best version I have seen of this kit. Love the color also...
PARTSMARTY Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Great build-great car-wow-awesome color combo !!!
espo Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Really captures the Gasser look. Considering what you had to work with you should get an "ata boy" for completion.
