started this the other night, first order of business was taking care of the 'fender flares' lol,

have all the wheel lips re-done, filled some sink marks in the door area, and it is now in primer, will sand and re-check body work tomorrow probably. at this point the plan is a straight up stock build, most likely in sublime green......but that color could change by the time i actually spray something on it, lol.

Dave, out of the box, the wheel trim looks like fender flares, they are quite prominent, so i sanded them down to where i thought they looked 'right'. have it in primer now, still needs some sanding, and not sure if i'm sticking with sublime green or not..........

May want to have a look at the windshield trim and drip rails.  Pretty large.  I went through and tried to file/sand/scrape them to a more accurate likeness.  As think as the overdone wheel openings, one might think they could have made the window trims a little more delicate.  rallye wheels are a bit thick in the middle as well.

I'll have ti look at my kit of this one, as I haven't looked closely to it at all.... BUT if these same areas ARE "thick" I'll be doin' much the same as you did here........ I WILL say however, I THINK I'm changing my wheels on this kit from the Rallye's to the Magnum 500's, (something different on the '70 'Cuda for me, and I also think I'm going 440 6 barrel too! (engine goin' between the frame rails could change at the drop of my Mopar hat that sits atop my head! LOL)

finally got back to this the other day. i had been thinking of doing it sublime green, but just couldn't do it, wanted something a little different, but didn't know what. so, after what seems like forever, i settled on GM Dark Labyrinth Metallic, or tungsten if you prefer, lol, it's a dark gray metallic. i also opted for the silver hemi decals for the quarter panels. now, i'm undecided on interior color................ugh.....,but, here is where i am at now,

thanks for looking, should have regular updates on this now.

a little more progress, engine bay is in body color and painted the chassis pan [which i may re-do], tried to emulate over spray underneath, but it's hard to do with a rattle can.

thanks for looking....

You should only focus on the rocker panels, cuz on the rear the quarterpanel goes deeper (undercut?) then the floorboard, so technically one should simulate that with a piece of tape and spray over that.

The longitudinal (enginebay framerails) should have a bit color from above, due to spraying the enginebay,

Also think the factory painters sprayed with a 45° angel to cover the rockers and bottom of the fenders, rockers, and front and rear splash panels (panels below the bumpers) Someone who has been painting real cars in a factory setting will know for certain

While the big block 383/440 or Hemi engine have LOTS of power, they're like "boat anchors" in a pony car like the 'Cuda. On a 1:1 car, just relocating the battery from the front of the car to the trunk, one can actually feel the difference in weight reduction.
