Mopar - D Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) This is a build that I've been planning for many years after I found pictures of this rig. The story behind the rig is that Chrysler sponsored the Spurrlow singing group in the late 60's. They went around the country preforming at schools. I'm starting with an resin Dodge LS 1000 cab from AITM, AMT White-Frightliner SD and Bill Elliott stock car transporter. The trailer still has some hurdles for me I would like to change out the the wheels to the smaller size and I'm not sure how I'm going to paint or decal the trailer to match. I'm open for any ideas anyone may have. So far I've started on the frame. Reference pictures of what I'm building Edited April 29, 2018 by Mopar - D Updated status

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Nice start. So will it be a LV1000 or a LN1000?Okay, I'm going to show my ignorance, what is the difference between the two?
cowboy rich Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Okay, I'm going to show my ignorance, what is the difference between the two?got me stumped too??

Tesla Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 As with all your builds, this is going to be real nice! I look for ward to your progress.
Jim B Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Dodge was a little strange. The LVS/LVT1000 was the designation for trucks with V6 or V8 engines, while the LNS/LNT1000 designation was used for trucks with I6 engines. The "S" was for single drive axle & the "T" was for tandem drive axles.
Mopar - D Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 I've been working on getting the frame together and have now a coat of primer on it and have been dechromeing the wheels and fuel tanks. I'm going to use Testors Star-Spangled Blue I think it is close to what I see in the pictures.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 This is going to be good! I never was a fan of these boxy trucks like the Dodge L1000, 7400 White, and Early W9000 Ford while they were on the road regularly, but now they are my favorite!
kilrathy10 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Gonna be fun to watch you get this one together.....So far, so good.....
gatorincebu Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Dan, Nice work thus far . I always thought those trucks were so ugly that they were cool! lol Be Well Gator
Mopar - D Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Painted the frame blue and chromed the wheels and wheel guards. Wheels are just test fitted to see how they will look with the blue frame. I'm planning to go with some after market tires too. Started on the engine assembly.
kilrathy10 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) That chassis looks pretty cool....Very clean.....Something tells me We'll be seeing this one in April.... Edited January 14, 2017 by kilrathy10
Mopar - D Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 JT the cab for sure the trailer may not be ready for it. Lake Charles show is on the 28 this month I'm planning to go to.
