Jon Haigwood Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Just received my order from Fireball (Best carbs I have ever seen) Any tips on how to remove them from the casting block? Thanks
my66s55 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I did it by using a model miter box. Lay it on it's side and cut as close to the carb as your comfortable with. Then use a sanding stick and draw it evenly across the stick which is laying on a flat surface. Go slow and check your sanding results often so as to get it even as you can.
High octane Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I also sent in an order to Fireball last week for some carbs. I have a few resin ones that aren't so good, so I decided to get some from Fireball as I've never been disappointed with his products.

Carbs looks as thou you could hook up a fuel line and start an engine with them.
High octane Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Hmmm, that sounds good as I'll be usin' one on my current build, and hopefully my order will arrive this week or next. I'm really not in any hurry though.

High octane Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Trust me, you'll love EVERYTHING Joseph makes!Oh I do as I already have a few of the items he offers.
my80malibu Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 probably cut as close as possible to get the bulk off , then use a dremel at slow speed to get closer, and finish with a sanding stick.
carsntrucks4you Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Make a cut as close to the base of the carb and then sand it down to the base. I had ordered the first time from Joseph and his cars are incredible . Beside Model Car Garage's Stromberg carbs his carbs are the best 4 Barrel carb is 1/25 scale.
Jon Haigwood Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks for the tips. Got my first set off. Love these carbs. Now to figure out the linkage and fuel lines. These will be going on a 426 Hemi with cross ram.

crazyjim Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I have 3 different sets of his carbs but haven't used them yet. They are beautiful pieces though.

redneckrigger Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Have gotten many tires, wheels, door handles, carburetors, and fender flares for the Bronco, from Joseph. Incredibly fast delivery times, top notch communication, VERY affordable prices, and the best detailed quality cast items I have EVER seen. HIGHLY recommended!!!
Bill J Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Simply the best and fantastic service as well. The carbs are the most accurate of carbs, nothing else even comes close. The tires, wheels and Bronco parts are also perfect. You cannot go wrong with Fireball Modelworks
