Lanny Haas Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) used a flintstone resin body, scratch build flatbed, a flintstone chopped model A and the old AMT 32 ford coupe chassis, and wheels from a die cast 50 chevy tow truck...also the interior from the new revell model A coupe kit Edited January 19, 2017 by Lanny Haas
DumpyDan Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Very nice, great pair. Where did the wheels on the truck come from?
Lanny Haas Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 from a diecast 53 chevy tow truck I bought for 9 bucks at the local car wash
Intmd8r Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Awesome buil and great score from the car wash. What I wouldn't do to have either one in 1:1....
bbowser Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 First of the Flintstone body I've seen built, looks great!
Lanny Haas Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) the inspiration for the build. this truck is a 1954 so I took some liberties Edited January 19, 2017 by Lanny Haas
Sixties Sam Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Very cool! I like cabovers. This one is beautiful, as is the hot rod! Nice work!Sam
crazyjim Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 That's fantastic! How would you get the couple on/off the truck? It looks like the exhaust stacks go through the floor?
espo Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Beautiful setup. I saw a for sale sign in the picture, how much did they want ??
geemoney Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 That's fantastic! How would you get the couple on/off the truck? It looks like the exhaust stacks go through the floor?a 40' aluminum ramp?
kilrathy10 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Man, that is sharp....Very nice work.....I mean.....What a build !!!!
o-man Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Saw this on Barrett Jackson. Cool build. Last bid I saw on real combo was $70k
espo Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 the inspiration for the build. this truck is a 1954 so I took some liberties I had asked about the price on this. Friday evening I was watching B-J on Velocity. They had Dave Kindigit their talking about the build and pointed out the many thing that the builder had done on both the truck and the A. This rig hammered at $125,000. I don't think in the real world unless your labor was free that this could be built for $125k.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Love it. Very nice. Super cool. Great look.
