crazyjim
Must be drugs. I never saw anybody use a crankshaft. Camshaft all day and night, but never a crank. Maybe he used it because of his name.By the way, Dr. Cranky had a rat roaster build in MCM #203 with a crankshaft for the spreader bar that "everybody used". Baloney!! Gasser56
I don't know this Dr.Cranky, but it sounds like he's not very well like here...Have I missed something?
crazyjim
Dr. Cranky used to post here all the time. I have no idea what happened to him. I think he was very popular because of his spectacular SHINY paint jobs. Probably most famous for his rusty, crusty builds though.
1930fordpickup
I would have to think that the Crankshaft is because of his nic name. Not sure why everyone is finding this strange if you have looked at his builds, he is always doing different things. But everyone seems to forget that different is what hot rodding is all about. Xingu
You guys need to crack open the Model Cars mag you got in the mail (or look at the cover). I thought it was an awesome touch to the model.
Ace-Garageguy
I know, they're only models...but bolting a 55 pound piece of useless dead metal to the front of a real car, out in front of the axle, only serves to make it understeer worse and go slower. Ace-Garageguy
but, it does a messy job on Zombies! I'd prefer to see spinning lawnmower blades...
espo
I'd prefer to see spinning lawnmower blades... I like that idea. There are time that I would like to have one of those on the front of my Wrangler, and I don't mean when off road either.
High octane
I know, they're only models...but bolting a 55 pound piece of useless dead metal to the front of a real car, out in front of the axle, only serves to make it understeer worse and go slower. You're right about that. I had the battery moved from the front of the car to the trunk, and could feel the difference with that weight relocated. Bones will clog more, but, metal is still heavier than meat.
espo
A most excellent weight reduction. Bones will clog more, but, metal is still heavier than meat.I was actually thinking about chewing on the rubber rear bumpers of the "Left Lane Setters" who are texting and not looking where they are going and speeding up only to slow down again. Of course they wake up when you go to pass and now they think you want to Drag Race. It seems to be a very big issue here, but this is another subject for another time. I'm just glad to see Dr. Cranky showing some of his ideas.
Tom Geiger
I'd prefer to see spinning lawnmower blades... Too messy to clean up afterwards! I prefer the usual "Thump! Thump!" when you run them over. Bill, I'm surprised you haven't seized the opportunity to offer a light resin cast cam shaft for these rat rodders! You could even pre-thread them!
