landman Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Turned out OK. Hope you like it. It is growing on me.
crazyjim Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Looks to be put together very nicely. But a Pontiac pickup?
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 So that's where the phantom V-12 was going. Cool concept, nicely built.
landman Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Looks to be put together very nicely. But a Pontiac pickup?I was looking for an El Camino/Ranchero type for the dio shop and I stumbled onto this one in a hobby shop. So I bought it but decided not to paint it shop colors but to do it like a regular vehicle.
landman Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 So that's where the phantom V-12 was going. Cool concept, nicely built. Initially, it was going to go into my engine collection then someone here said I should put it into something.
espo Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I think it turned out great. I followed your build and I liked your engine idea and how you made it all fit.
landman Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 Thanks guys, it turned out better than I expected. When i first put it together loosely, it looked that nothing would fit without some carving. It feels like the bed and roof were an afterthought.
disabled modeler Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Looks nice Pat...! The bed and roof were an afterthought this kit started out as a HT one like the damaged one I have...mine needs the body and glass replaced wish I could find them for it.
Reuhkapelti Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I like this one. Great idea and looks very cool, the body work and the engine also.I wonder how the tail gate would open? Just the top section of it? Or would the tail lamps tilt too?Another question about this garage where your cool Pontiac is standing: What kind of material is the floor made of? This topic inspired me to open my Fujimi garage kits and I started to put them together. I made the walls already and all the equipment from the kit, including the car hoist and other staff. Just want to make as good looking floor as you have there.
DumpyDan Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Holy Moly that looks great, I new it would fit. Well done and it looks like it could have come that way, another nice piece of work Pat
doorsovdoon Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Oh yes! I'll definitely be buying this kit again and doing the pick-up version. Very nice! I'm currently doing the convertible and it's a great kit, thoroughly enjoying the build. It go's together very well with no issues.
