Reuhkapelti
I read an article in a Finnish car-magazine about this V8 powered sharp looking vehicle, and decided to make a model of it in 1:25 scale. I was quite sure there's no model kit available of this car, so I was free to choose what could be the starting point for this project. I had a Ford Thunderbird nascar-body lying around useless, so I gave it some heavy moulding and scratching. Here is the body before (pic 1) and after some cutting (pic 2). Then things started to happen... the interior is all scratch built too. Ford 351C under the bonnet, Jaguar rear axle under the chassis. This was quite hard project for me, and there was some moments when I thought will I ever get it finnished... So here it is, take a look. Edit. sorry somehow the pics are a bit mixed. Original body is pic. 3 Edited April 8, 2017 by Reuhkapelti
vamach1
Very impressive. Most people think of a Pantera when they hear the name DeTomaso but he built some other cool cars. It reminds me of a Jensen Interceptor which there probably isn't a kit of those either.
donb
That is quite the build you did there. Very interesting subject and great transformation from the NASCAR bird. Very impressive.
MonoPed
Turning a NASCAR T-Bird into that? Very cool, very nice work!
Richard Bartrop
Love the subject, and you did a great job of it. Just shows that you don't have to wait for a kit to get the model you want.

Perspective Customs
Wow! You have a really good eye to see a DeTomaso in a NASCAR T-Bird, not to mention the skill to pull it off. Nice job.
