Brizio Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) I had this kit for a while and I was thinking to build it. Unfortunately the headlight lenses are molded withe the front end. I'm thinking to drill them out and replace with clear lenses. Edited September 10, 2017 by Brizio
David G. Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I have one of these too! I'm interested in seeing how this one goes together.David G.

Brizio Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Here's what I did to mine! Nice work. Mine will be more simple...
Russell C Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 ...Mine will be more simple... Define "simple" -- Brizio style. One of your previous cars ended up being a fairly simple chicken coop. =)
Brizio Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 You got my attention ! Randy Hopeful I will not disappoint you. Define "simple" -- Brizio style. One of your previous cars ended up being a fairly simple chicken coop. =) LOL... I should have used this one as chicken coop... Plenty of room in it... Washed the wheels. I still don't know if is better spend time on the front end, I mean drill the headlight and remove the siren from the grille or use a Monogram front end. Here the wheels.

cpspoogie Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Wow. Shoot me at dawn. Ridiculous. Thanks, this finalized my decision to get off here. Absolutely ridiculous!
Lizz62 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 You should have just started your own thread. It's nice to compare, unless you post more pics than the original poster. Wow. Shoot me at dawn. Ridiculous. Thanks, this finalized my decision to get off here. Absolutely ridiculous!
Lizz62 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Shot some primer on the body. I'm liking the direction you're going in with this can't wait to see it get done looking really smooth and clean
bisc63 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 This is a great blank canvas for customizing; rock on!

Brizio Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 I've been watching you build and it inspired me . I have an ecto 1a a friend bought me when I broke my back, never knew what I was gonna do with it . now I know. Gonna make a version of this . I always liket this kit! Looking forward to see your build! Thanks David! Looking good. Thank you Andre! SMMOOOOOOOOOOTH! What is that color? On my monitor, it has a dark eggplant purple cast to it. Lizz62, thanks for that pic; I have never seen that kit! Inspiring stuff. The color is a left over from a can. Now I have it in a jar, so I don't know the exact name, I think was Duplicolor Dark Cherry... The picture is not great so is difficult to see it. I will take more picture soon. Thank you Rusty!
M1ks Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Food for thought:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/113986-posting-your-build-on-the-other-guy’s-thread/ Got to agree, i've done it before but only ONE pic, as an example/comparison/idea or to point something out.A whole slew of pics was unecessary and does take away from the reason I clicked this thread to read, I want to see what the OP does with the build, not a page and a half of someone elses.Wow. Shoot me at dawn. Ridiculous. Thanks, this finalized my decision to get off here. Absolutely ridiculous!Does come across as hijacking another thread, one pic and even a clicky link to your build thread and i'd have looked and i'm sure others would or just start a new thread maybe? You'd leave a forum over something like this? It's the internet and everyone has an opinion
Brizio Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 Some more progress. Interior is completed. The seats are donated from the Monogram '59 Caddy.
djflyer Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Am really liking this build so far - smooth is good (at least for me). That color looks great and can't wait to see a few more shots of it. Nice interior also - what did you use for the metal trim on the seats? It looks very real.
