High octane Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I've used fountain pens in the past, but it has been decades.
waynehulsey Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Don't think I've used one since they were banned in high school in 1964 I think.
landman Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Love them too. Used them all the time. Haven't in a while. Still have a couple.
espo Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 They were common years ago and the only thing I didn't care for was they way the ink would keep flowing even when you slowed down your writing or if you stopped and didn't remove the pen from the paper immediately. Also the possibility of leakage when covered and you are moving about. I think that most all of these problems were solved with the ever improved Ball Point Pen.
JollySipper Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Hey, Hanabi! Do you use these for your calligraphy? or do you have a set of pens just for that? Can you show us some more examples of your awesome handwriting?(Guys, this fellow is genius with a pen..........)
Monty Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I've been interested in these for some time but didn't find them to be as practical as ballpoints. OTOH, there's a certain look to a letter written with a fountain pen that makes it stand out a little more. I started with some lesser, low dollar pens (Parker Vector etc) but didn't like them. I eventually went bucks-up for a Cross Townsend Medalist, which is my favorite so far. Unfortunately, because I rarely have occasion to write letters etc anymore, I probably won't be buying any more pens.
GeeBee Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 I'm still using my Sheaffer fountain pen I've had for the last 30 odd years,
Rob Hall Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Never used one. Unfortunately, I do almost no handwriting today, so my once decent cursive writing skill is long gone. Handwriting seems to be a lost art.
花火 Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 I'm still using my Sheaffer fountain pen I've had for the last 30 odd years, Cool! Is this a legacy?
花火 Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 looks like pens really kind of out of date now... sad..
Modelbuilder Mark Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 REALLY enjoy the pens, but my handwriting was so bad, never bothered with good pens
martinfan5 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Never used one to be honest, but I sure do love the Zebra Gel fine point pens, and the Parker Pens, oh yes, but I really hate hand writing. Maybe for my own poop and giggles, I will get myself one, you only live once. Edited June 21, 2017 by martinfan5
GeeBee Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Cool! Is this a legacy? No, it's an Imperial, slightly slimmer than the Legacy model.
Mike C Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Nice pens. Do people still know how to write? They don't teach cursive any more. How do they sign their names?
