665@213 Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) Hey everyone. I finished this Fairlane back in May of this year, and I forgot to take any pictures. The body has been shaved of all emblems, lock cylinders, and trim. Door handles were replaced with Revell 69 Talladega handles. Color is Tamiya Pure white with Testors one coat clear. Interior is Testors Italian red with foiled trim. Power is a 427 SOHC and a 4 speed. Wheels are Casey's big steel wheels with kit hubcaps and redlined tires. All comments are welcome! #1 model citizen Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Nice looking interior & engine. What are those crazy wheels?
Snake45 Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Very clean work, especially on the ultra-glossy white paint, which isn't easy to pull off. Well done! Not sure I'm really digging the "big steel" wheels, though. To be honest, they kind of remind me of a certain line of diecasts I see at Walmart (Jadas, maybe?) that I'd be tempted to buy one or two of, but their oversized wheels/tires put me off. But hey, that's just ME. It's YOUR model, and you built it the way YOU wanted, and good for you!
Slotto Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I really like this one! Great stance, color and finish. Super clean with a great interior. Nice big motor too.
DeeCee Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) Very nicely done, sweet engine, and i LOVE those wheels, but i do have an imagination and really don't give two cents for stock or original. . Edited June 24, 2017 by DeeCee
Dave Darby Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Super nice great execution too. While I'm not usually a fan of the big wheels either they do work here. The only thing I would change is that on all Fairlane hardtops the entire A pillar is covered with a stainless steel trim plate with no body color in the center. That's an Ertl screw-up.
espo Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Great contemporary looking build. Very nicely detailed. I like the wheels better than some of the Mags you normally see.
crazyjim Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Looks terrific in SHINY and I really like whatever you did to the valve covers.
665@213 Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 Nice looking interior & engine. What are those crazy wheels? Thanks! The wheels are from a member here on the forum, Casey. I purchased them off of eBay. The seller name is forward resin.
665@213 Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 Looks terrific in SHINY and I really like whatever you did to the valve covers. Thank you! The valve covers were dechromed and sprayed with Testors fabric gray lacquer. I wanted a raw, unfinished cast look.
Metaldrumm Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Thats great work ,paint, execution and the way all your parts fit is really impressive, your going places buddy.
