jjsipes Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 My next project I started to get ready will be this. Ordered F6 Bright Green paint from Scale Finishes and used half round .040" plastic for vinyl top trim and seams, sanded down seams to be flat. Primed and painted this morning since the hot humid weather has broken in Maryland.
jjsipes Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 I have the mod top material in decal but do not recall if it came from Decals by Lucas of Keith Marks.
Slotto Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Roof ribs look good. I like the color and the subject!
Curt Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Looking good, Jason. Cant wait to see how that mod top looks...

jjsipes Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 Very cool.Ive seen this very dart in person. Its a really cool car to see in personYea I'm always drawn to them at the shows when I see them. I built the 70 Hemi Cuda Mod Top and now working on the Dart and have the items to build the 69 Barracuda Mod Top when I get to it.
jjsipes Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Started trying to apply the mod top decal but the color was coming off film. Nothing was said that they needed to be sealed. Now I need to wait for the weather to clear out to seal decal film before I can try again. Glad that the film is an 8x10 sheet.
randyc Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 looks like a fun one. Can't wait to see it finished. I've built 3 or 4 of those Darts. Not sure I'll do another one. But I do like the Dart.
jjsipes Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 In progress shot of the Mod Top decal going on.
jjsipes Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 Top just about completed. Just need to do under rear window yet. Two different pictures under different lighting.

Dann Tier Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 VERY cool!!! -I have a 69 Super Bee that I will build this way some day too. Cant wait to see this one done!!!
NYLIBUD Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Pretty wild roof.Leave it to Mopar to come up with a design like this.A pattern that I wouldn't hang up in a 1970s bathroom lol.Actually it looks kind of like a shower curtain,I once had.But on the Dart,it definitely looks cool...
jjsipes Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Mind if I ask where the decals are fromWasn't sure where I had gotten the decal from but went looking and this is where it came from. They have a new listing for the same decal I had gotten.http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOPAR-GREEN-MOD-TOP-VINYL-TOP-1-25th-scale-model-car-decal-/253067490358?hash=item3aebff7436:g:Q2kAAOSwcgNZMp61 They also have the yellow listed.http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOPAR-YELLOW-MOD-TOP-VINYL-TOP-1-25th-scale-model-car-decal-/253067490364?hash=item3aebff743c:g:jysAAOSwjqVZMpmt
jjsipes Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Chassis just about completed, needs to finish exhaust tips. Wheels and tires. Wheels are kit supplied factory wheel covers and tires are from AMT 70 1/2 Z28 with hand painted redlines.
Lizz62 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Nice redlines !! Tried some decals the other day.... They sucked. Yours are sweet! Steady hand.
