JTRACING Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 some progress on this revell kit, craft paints and oils
bill lanfear Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Nice subtle weathering! I will be watching this one come together! I like using the craft paints as well. What oils are you using?
JTRACING Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 Thanks, for oils I just use 2 colors mainly white and raw umber, also some paynes grey to add in shadows here and there and on any chrome parts. I never thin my oil paint though just use neat for the tube and clear coat over every step with duplicolor acrylic enamel gloss spray bombs. No drying time needed.
bill lanfear Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Thanks James for the tip! I assumed the oils would have to flash before clear coating, I will have to try it out! Thanks again!
afx Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Very impressive finish on your build always James. Would love to learn to weather.
eclecticbuilder Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Saw about 6 of the 1:1, while driving back home from farm country Ohio today. Yours looks so right! Looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

misterNNL Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Outstanding work, very subtle and realistic. Did you create your own decals/graphics for those doors?
JTRACING Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 Outstanding work, very subtle and realistic. Did you create your own decals/graphics for those doors?thanks, those decals come in the kit and It has another option of "reds orchard " in red lettering

Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Simply WOW! Not sure how you guys manage to work with those craft acrylics. Are you thinning with water, Windex, alcohol?
Modlbldr Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I am just getting in to using craft paint. I would love to see some videos on your techniques. Later-
