For sure it's odd. But also cool. 

I never got the idea of why it's a rod. Remove the "corpses" and what remains (no pun intended) look more military than rod ish.

   Until the reissue the originals fetched a huge price on auction.....I remember Monogram said "back in the day" this kit & Tijuana Taxi would never be reissued due to Political correctness....."money talks"!
