crazyjim Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 (edited) Finished this '87 TBird unTurbo coupe yesterday. Unturbo because the little 4 cyl turbo engine was replaced with a 427 cammer engine. Tru-Color candy apple red paint was used. Edited April 3, 2018 by crazyjim
Renegade Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Great looking build. Would be fun at a stop light.
crazyjim Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 Thanks Terry. Stop lights could be fun. The body looks like a stock turbo coupe minus the badging. But wait until you step on the gas.
TooOld Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Nice one Jim ! A cammer in a '87 T-Bird would be a handful!
cobraman Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Very nice Jim ! I like how you seem to build a little bit of everything.
crazyjim Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 Thanks Ray. I need to do a street rod in the near future.
Jmaracing Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Sharp looking build Jim. I like it a lot. Great job.
Luc Janssens Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Remember when Monogram announced this one, I pre-ordered as soon as I saw the pic in the catalog, but was suprised when my dealer handed over me the actual kit....
Ron Hamilton Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 My sister has an 88 Thunderbird Sport with a 5.0 Liter engine, I bought the Turbo kit to do the car. She still has it, and it does not look too bad.
Luc Janssens Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 23 hours ago, crazyjim said: Did it have a 427 cammer, Luc? dunno what"s in the kit, not much of an engine expert
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 The kit I had came with a 4 cyl turbo engine.
PARTSMARTY Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Looks great as all your builds do and that engine put it over the top !!!
slusher Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Beautiful T-bird Jim, love the color choice, really pops!
