Pork Souvlaki.  I marinaded the meat but tossed it into the grilling basket with onions and sweet peppers instead of making skewers.

Tonight was homemade enchiladas...

I was talking to my Mom one evening while she was making these..... She said "They're not going to be very big", to which I replied "So, you're making enchi-littles then?"

Nothing special here... just a bacon cheesburger with avacado a cilantro lime and garlic mayo and jack cheese on a toasted bun.

Man, that looks good.  :D

Nothing special here either...just a hearty Tuscan pork and lentil stew, with warm buttered black bread and a cheap California Pinot Noir. Pumpkin muffin for dessert, and dark, strong, black coffee.

Thanks, I do enjoy a good burger... especially like the one pictured above 40% beef 40% venison and 20% bacon fat. The buck bagged last season and the quarter cow I bought is still feeding my backside this year!

Your ensemble sounds damn good if I'm honest... I had homeade andouille sausage/lentil soup 3 nights ago... made in croc pot 10hrs. Very tasty.

Pan seared salmon portions with lemon butter and dill. Picture taken from Google. Mine taste better than they look. Substituted margarine for the butter (gotta watch the old ticker these days).

tomorrows dinner. the sausages i made myself using local pork,my  home grown pepper (the only one that grew, lol), but i bought the onions and mushrooms. Will be served with home made roast potatoes. a handy tip if you want light fluffy roast tatties is to half boil the potatoes and let them get cold, then reboil with clean water until they start cracking. now you have perfectly prepared tatties to roast. if you dont change the water they end up with a claggy texture due to the starch. I learned this tip while working at a michelin 3 starred restaurant as second chef, and it was partly my soup that earned the stars (it got highly recommended)

Was The Spouse's birthday, so butter-poached small lobster tails, baked potato, broccolini with hollandaise.

A couple of weeks ago, it was the wife's birthday, so I made her some of her favorites.

Seared scallops with brown butter-caper sauce, fresh green beans with sun dried tomatoes, and mushroom risotto with Parmigiano Reggiano and aged balsamic vinegar.

Flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

Last week it was a new chili recipe which featured such unusual ingredients as cocoa powder, strong black coffee, smoked paprika, coriander, fennel and cinnamon.

It was delicious!!

My new "go-to" chili recipe.

And, getting into the holiday spirit with a big batch of walnut fudge! :P

Y'all be makin' me hungry.

Haven't tried it yet, but there's a new Indian restaurant a couple blocks from home.

Probably try it this week. Vindaloo, baby. Oh yeah.  :D

Love Indian food, but I never get a chance to go because my wife isn't interested.

But, for anybody in the same boat that has a Trader Joe's in their area, try their frozen Indian meals.

You won't believe how good they are!!

I'm not a T.V. dinner guy, but these are delicious!!

There's a ton of choices of various entrees and appetizers.

I'll have to look into that. The pictures on the packages look great. Thanks.

I can cook most of the Indian I really like (though I haven't yet attempted paneer, a kind of homemade chunk cottage cheese), either from scratch or using commercially available sauces. There's enough of an Indian community where I am so the major stores stock at least a few, and they're pretty good if you're in a hurry, but usually need punching up in the seasonings, as they're kinda dumbed down for American tastes. My local Publix also stocks naan bread, basmati rice, several chutneys and Indian pickles, and all the spices...which helps.

Seems I recall seeing the Trader Joe's brand, and figgered they'd be toned down too. I'll definitely give 'em a try.  :D

Another piece of meat from my indoor grill......... This time we had a porkchop with my favorite barbecue sauce (Bull's Eye 'Everyday' sauce) accompanied by a salad with mixed lettuce, cucumber, sunflower seeds and dried cranberries, with buttermilk Ranch........

I had Taco Bell, first time in over a year here.

My local has been drive-through only, the lobby having been closed since the panic over the flulike-Chinese-illness-that-cannot-be-named.

I don't do drive-through, preferring to walk in if I get fast food...which is VERY infrequently anyway.

After stopping by the hardware store for a 4-40 tap, a small countersink, and some suet cakes for the birds, I crossed the street on the off chance the doors at Taco Bell would be open once again.

Halleluiah!!  The rain clouds parted and a sunbeam lit my way. I got a bag full and went home to stuff myself.  B)

I like pretty much everything on their menu. I usually get the Nachos BelGrande, and a couple of burritos or tacos or whatever appeals at the time.

I could eat their stuff every day, that and Indian from the new place around the corner, and the really good authentic Mexican place nearby, but if I ate any of it as often and as much as I'd like, I wouldn't be able to waddle up my steps in a few weeks.   ;)
