Was then delivered a couple days later. Why would a package going from Atlanta to the Cleveland, Oh area go to the West Coast?? More than likely due to USPS using FedEx for ordinary parcel delivery. Ordered some paint from Scale Finishes a year or so ago: The parcel went from Salt Lake City to Denver, then back to Salt Lake City, then to Denver once again--that repeated itself daily for a week or more, then finally to St. Louis, then to Memphis TN, to Indianapolis IN (65 miles SE of me), then back to Memphis--then back to St Louis AGAIN. Finally I quit tracking it, and guess what, the parcel showed up the day after I stopped tracking it, and who delivered it? FEDEX! (Go figure, huh?) Art
Draggon Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 One of my duties at my old job was shipping and receiving, so I know how to pack things. Several years back I returned some vacuum cleaner filters the girlfriend didn't need. A week later the box comes back, looking like after USPS drove over it, they tied it to the bumper and drug it across town. Naturally the paper cone filters inside were destroyed too. I contacted USPS and of course they said that was the condition they received it in, and by the way, next time I should write the shipping address on the parcel. The box had been torn up so much the only identifying thing on it was my return address. My response was something like, do you actually think I shipped the box in that condition, and why are you blaming me for what you did? I got a four word response "we dont do that" followed by a disconnect, or hang up, or whatever.
NYLIBUD Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Oh,man, the PO is run by a bunch of xxxxxxxx bla bla bla blaaaaaa..At least mine is.
Jon Haigwood Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 Finally got thru to Customer Service, They said the postal Carrier should have come back when asked and should have written the required information on the missed delivery slip (it was blank) Acknowledged the two none redeliveries (I have confirmation numbers) . They scheduled another redelivery for monday. We will see what happens tomorrow.
High octane Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Over the 50+ years I've had very few complaints with the delivery and service of the USPS and very happy with our current carrier. On hot days if I see the mail truck coming I'll try to bring the carrier a cold bottle of water.

This. ∆ ∆ ∆ My best friend is a residential carrier. He not only "goes back" to deliver the mail but he even knocks on the doors and hands the mail to the old ladies and housebound every day, just to make sure they're okay. My carrier, however, won't deliver my mail if more than two inches of snow goes unshoveled. My carrier buddy calls that guy a rules nazi.
NYLIBUD Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Yea well my carrier won't even get out of his truck,if there is a car partially blocking my mail box.Sometimes neighbors will park there, even though I left notes on the cars to NOT park blocking my mail box.But do they listen...rarely.
Jon Haigwood Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 Well it showed up today, carrier apologize for the first guys actions.
Rob Hall Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 So today’s USPS fun...I was tracking my inbound HLJ shipment, saw it due for delivery tomorrow. Then this afternoon, I get an email saying it was delivered at 1:57pm. Nope—I’ve been home all day, no doorbell ring, nothing caught on my cameras. No package outside. Before going all rage monkey, I call the local PO, and the guy there confirms it had been scanned and would look into it. Half hour or so goes by, I wondered if it had been left at the same house number a couple streets over (similar street name). This has happened before. So I drove over to the other street, flagged down the mailman who was making his rounds. Said he thought he delivered it, but was vague. Said he’d look around. Drove home..see an SUV out front and a guy w my box ? Hmm He was the post office guy I had talked to earlier, turns out the package had never left the post office. Apparently had been scanned in error. Strange..was odd since these packages usually require a signature.

Or maybe the kid made that part up rather than admit he boogered up the simple task you gave him to be there for delivery.
