Gramps46 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 The Corvette Grand Support is such an icon and before Accurate Miniatures started offering kits of the car I don't remember any kits. So I gathered up the pieces with a1964 MPC Corvette (one of my favorite kits) and set about making one. It took 2 bodies to get the opening parts right but I was pleased with the final outcome. Ismail may remember this one.
Anglia105E Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Gary..... I very much like the Corvette Grand Sport that you have built, and somehow the car looks right on a trailer. This is probably my preferred body shape of all the Corvettes, and it reminds me of a Corgi or Dinky version in diecast that I must have played with as a boy in the 1960's ( late 1950's ). David
Anglia105E Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Also, forgot to mention.... your trailer model looks just like the trailer my sailing boat sits on ( full size not a model boat ) David
Classicgas Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Wow. Wouldn't have know it wasn't the AM offering.
D. Battista Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 That's pretty Awesome...! Thanks for sharing...!
Snake45 Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Was this written up in The Other Magazine some years ago? I was going through some back issues last month and saw it--or one someone built that was very similar. Beautiful work!
Gramps46 Posted July 23, 2018 Author Posted July 23, 2018 Snake, it is the same one. I am going through old stuff and came across the pictures and decided to share them. Thanks to all for your comments.
TooOld Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Excellent work on the conversion , it looks like a lot of work went into it to get everything right !
