1320wayne Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 (edited) Here is the wip rebuild of the A100 drag truck that will go with my dually and Galaxie trailer. It is being done in a Super Gas or Comp. Eliminator style. The body is a Jimmy Flintstone chopped A100 and the chassis is being upgraded to resemble something a little more accurate than what I had originally built so many years ago. In the pics below all of the styrene in white is all new pieces being added. I also cut open the doors to be hinged later on. Edited December 12, 2018 by 1320wayne
1320wayne Posted August 25, 2018 Author Posted August 25, 2018 I added some wedge to the body sides along with more chassis pieces and wheel tubs.
1320wayne Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 More work done. Got some motor mounts created and more framerails added.
1320wayne Posted August 30, 2018 Author Posted August 30, 2018 More framerails, more rollcage and I was able to get the drivers door hinged and working.
John Teresi Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Wayne.....that’s really cool.....you gave me a couple of ideas for a future build?......great fab work

Jantrix Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Terrific. Years ago I'd built something just like it with a Baja Beast VW. Sadly it was in a box of models that disappeared during a military move.
1320wayne Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Got a lot more done on the A100. Chassis is all painted along with some home computer generated carbon fiber decals. Both doors are hinged and the tires and wheels are painted and installed. I also created a bed cover. More coming soon.
Sledsel Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 That is really cool... As a 1:1 it would be scary as hell to drive!
1320wayne Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 A reasonably small update. I was able to open the exhaust holes in the side of the body along with getting some color and assembly started on the engine. I also scratched a set of wheelie bars.
blackbeard Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Wow Wayne that is really cool looking build
1320wayne Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 More work done. Finally got some paint on the body and got started on the decaling process.

Codi Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 I really really like the lines and rake you put on the body Wayne. The decals are awesome too..........did you do those yourself? cheers, tim
Mister Twister Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Excellent work Wayne. The stance is great and the graphics are perfect for this Dodge.

The rest of the decals will be a mix of homemade and parts box decals.
1320wayne Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Finished off the decals today. Now I can get back to completing the final paint, assembly and detail of the rest of the build.
1320wayne Posted December 12, 2018 Author Posted December 12, 2018 Some scratchbuilt work done on creating the headers.
