This little gem is called "Ella" because my granddaughter Ella picked the color and how it was to be built when she was about 4 or 5 years old.(9 now)

Very nice, very clean build. It could be "Grumpy's Toy 0," as the first GT was red before it got its signature white paint. Drive on! B)

Very nice. What tires  are on it?

Those are the Firestone Wide Ovals fron te 67 Fairlane kit. I just filled the groove with red paint!

The line is really a bit too far out on the sidewall but it was what I had so went with it.!

Very nice clean build with great color. Young Miss Ella has good taste. Someone mentioned the tires and you replied that you thought the Red Line was to close to the tread. As I recall the early Firestone Red and White stripes were further out on the sidewall than other tire manufactures were doing at that time. The result was many right side tires ended up with a much wider stripe since so many would bounce off the curb when parking. I can remember White Letter tires winding up looking like White Walls.

I remember that happening very well! Especially the guys with the custom vans!

The white letters on passenger side now looked like a wide whitewall. They would come in for a tire repair because it had a slow leak and I would spray the soapy water onto the sidewall and tell them to stand there and watched while I took care of cars on the drive or went back to oil changes or repairs.

When I would come back after 10 or 15 minutes the whole side of the tire would be foam! They just couldn't figure out that once it reached the cord it would leak and the only fix was a new tire.

I refused to put a tube in as many asked for!

She's got a good eye for factory colors, looks like a close match to "Aztec Bronze" available that year. Keep her around as your color consultant!
