As teased in a couple other posts, I’ve started an F40. It was my intention to hold off until I had completed some of the stuff going on, but I couldn’t resist. Sorry @Dann Tier, it’s red. Lol. I had an incident with my new drawer liners and had to sand and reshoot the rear valance.

Hi Will, this is looking like a great start. Looking forward to your progress.

I prefer this kit over Tamiyas!!

@Dann Tier Yes, but what I really don't get about this kit is why Fujimi forgot/ refused to add the naca duct  intake to the front part of the car. For the LM version, there HAS to be one in the center of the front hood above the Ferrari emblem. It's not that they did not change the hood anyways - as we know they made the big air outlet so they could have done the naca duct aswell. Fujimi logics...

You got that right, Tommy!, I thought that was odd too, but as you know, I TOTALLY reworked mine into a "barely legal" street car......I even got rid of the naca ducts on the rockers!

The air extractor in the hood is not correct for the race car in addition the missing NACA ducts but it makes a wicked street car.  Great start Will.

Hmm, if I were to have spare body parts from, let's say a Tamiya F40 "Autobahn Unfall", I might be tempted to transplant that missing naca duct section into the Fujimi hood. Unless you have a way of scratch-building that too... ;)

Nice paint job!

This is an interesting kit. It's not entirely accurate to the true LM but I think what it actually is, is a modified F40 with an LM package of some sort. From my google search there are F40's that do look like this but they are not THE LM. But it is in the realm of the possibility of existing. Definitely need to pick this kit up again. Maybe do it in silver.

The F40 is my favorite Ferrari of all time.I have two kits, one is 1:12 th scale, and a 1:24 th scale. Not ready to build them just yet.Actually I'm just going to keep the larger scale kit alone, unbuilt.Too bad it's not sealed.Anyway,I'll be watching your progress.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I’ll be leaving the ducts as-is. I know it’s not right but honestly I love it the way it is. Maybe I’ll grab a second one later down the road. Feel free to post up the fix though @Dann Tier

With the Miura and Mercedes our of the way  I’m back on this. Trying to simulate the yellow black carbon fiber tub. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

I didn’t even notice it til you pointed it out. I probably won’t go to that level.

Trying to get the soft feel texture of the dash, center console and seat right. I still need to detail everything but the general feel seems pretty good.

Looks more to scale than even the Faux paint!!!...how'd you do it?!

Airbrush and Vallejo paint. I pulled the trigger just right to get a bit of splatter to the dash. The seats were just airbrushed at regular flow. The Vallejo paint is really soft looking when airbrushed. I haven’t done too much of it yet but I see a lot in the future.

The dash was too light for my taste so I reshot it with a darker grey. I also opted to add the passenger seat (not shown in the assembly instructions). I had one day where all I did was go backwards. I had to repaint the passenger door 3 times. Lol. Oh well. I also picked up a cheap headlamp/magnifying lense. It’s already helped me get a better dashboard on this car.
