The newbie here...

OK typos aside, this thing is for sure... A 1/16 scale kit.

This is my WIP 1957 Chevy Nomad garage sale special. It began its life as a incomplete model, but soon became something that I can tick my Chevy and Chrysler friends off. The simple reason on why I put a 1969 General Lee Hemi in it, is because... why not. The Dodge began its life as a complete model, though after some time it got somewhat destroyed. My hopes are to give the 57 "Ch-emi" the look of a rat rod, on top of the look of an old school street rod.

Neat things done:

Lowered car, put in a Hemi, roll cage, side exhaust, fuel lines, break lines, ignition wires, and cut out firewall.

Neat things to be done:

Transmission, electrical wires, finish model.

Nice car, just watch the strong language. This isn't that kind of forum.

Keep showing us your cool builds.

Sorry about that

No worries, let's move on.

Is this a 1/16 scale? It doesn't look like a Monogram or Revell 1/25 scale kit.

I'm not completely sure. I will have to take another look at the box. All I know is that it came with 3 cars, two engines, one hood, and one set of chrome. Its also older then most of my models, so it may not be a Monogram or a.Revell.

Great weathering! Very convincing.

Thanks!! I'm kinda new to the whole weathering techniques. Maybe in the future I'll do some more rat rods!!!!

Looking good, but the fan has me baffled......

I have to build the fan housing yet. The engine wouldn't fit unless I got rid of the fan. So I decided that maybe an Ellectric rad fan may be cool. I'm still actually contemplating whether or not I like the fan idea. Maybe you guys can let me know if I should pitch the idea, or attempt to make a fan housing?

I like the looks of your project. The NASCAR type single 4 barrel intake is unusual and I like that. The picture of the rear of the body looks better than the old Revell '57 Nomad in 1/25th that I remember.

If you need an electric fan, try sourcing one from another kit. Revells 40 Willy's street rod has one as do a few other kits. Maybe someone else can weigh in..

I sadly dont have a 40s Williys.l that I can rip apart. I was also thinking of stripping one out of an old computer, problem is that it may not fit properly.

$1.25 at B&L Resins.....

Awesome! Thankyou! I will have to check that out. In the meantime I may just use the computer fan and/or just leave it as is until I'm able to order it in.

Doesn't the WWII German Panther tank have something like that on its rear deck? Looks familiar....

Pretty close. The King Tiger also used similar fan housings.

Tiger Model Designs makes them.

If the special effects folks who created the Millennium Falcon scrounged Panther fan housings, they'll work just fine in this swell FrankenChebby.
